Good luck with the termite man AB - if you've had them before I guess you know the tell tale signs though. I hope there is not too much damage to have repaired.  :-* :-*

I should be on the happy thread, the Termite man has just left and no new termites its just some dry crumble from last time, he says not to bad and has given me advice on how to fix it.  Having the house resprayed tomorrow I don't ,want to go through that again.  Now I can go ahead with my new kitchen and now new flooring.

That's a relief ab.. Dad just replaced the garage door infested with termites but rest of garage and house is termite treated thank goodness.. 2nd door he has had to replace so this time put on a metal door... Freaky little suckers aren't they.. Glad it wasn't them again.. You must be so relieved!

Hi All,
Phew, you must be so relieved AB!

We've had an entertaining couple of days here - a chicken randomly appeared in our backyard - a live one!  We asked around a couple of local people who have chooks (or we thought had chooks  :-)) ) but no joy in finding an owner, so we were trying to catch it and one of the neighbours would have taken it in.  So lots of fun chasing it round and round the house.  The kids thought it was hilarious and haven't asked for TV or any other entertainment for 2 days.
But last night it managed to jump the fence (it's lower at the front of the house) and wandered off down the road!
Oh, well, back to our chickens-are-for-dinner-not-pets life.  ;)
The cat will miss it - the chicken was bigger than her, but she liked watching it (from a distance, little scaredy-cat)

AB I am so glad you had no new termites. They are horrible. If you leave a piece of wood on the ground for more than a week they are at it. We actually have a steel roof because of them. A little more expensive but better than termites and we now have the European wood borer. Do you have that over there? It loves pine.

Jeninwa, no air con you poor thing. Ceiling fans have saved our lives the last few nights. Minimums of 24+ are not much fun.
I think it is supposed to cool off a bit tomorrow.

Good news re Termites AB,
Cookie, MF hope things cool down for you soon.  It is quite warm here today but thankfully not as hot as W.A.
