No T2 here GF.Is there a shop in Sydney?

There are several in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide. I think there is even one at Sdney airport.

Some of the teas are just a cheap black or orange tea with added dried fruits, flowers, plants, spices and herbs. Their strength is in marketing and making the shops a pleasant experience with plenty of staff and interesting  displays with tea paraphernalia attractively packaged. Just makes you want to buy. Even me.

But they also have some old style good  teas with al twist like French Earl Grey which had corn flowers in it. and a few expensive teas but not so easy access and you really have  to know your stuff to inquire.  I would say they sell a lot more gimmicky  "non tea" teas than the really good stuff but that is where the money is and that is what people like.

For tasting when I was in were two cold drinks full of  fruit and spice and very little actual tea. There was one disgusting hot "tea" which was chocolate and spice with soy milk and honey added. I nearly spewed it up . I had to ask for a glass of water to rinse my mouth.  I decided then and there I was not a spice girl  and found some normal tea . Decided to be cautious with my money and bought the Earl Grey which I find is no different from my normal brew but the packaging is nice.

I will go back to buy another canister and get some Assam  which is not so easy to find in a pure form especially in Cairns. But I need to save my money for that one. Some tea grown here in Far North Queenslad can be very expensive too and it is machine harvested. Is a tea costing $600 a kilo better than a tea costing $110 kilo which is what I paid for my Earl Grey. No I only bought 100gms.

Some of the tea is grown  In The Daintree rainforest  here and is blended with herbs spices and or flowers to make teas marketed as Melbourne, Sydney etc tea. There is probably even a Perth tea.

The shops are growing like Topsy and the franchise is desirable. high profile and colourful. There are tea shops and tea shops but this one is a modern take on the old style tea den. Give the people what they want and they will come.

I enjoyed the experience.

Oops I forgot to say CC that this is an Australian  franchise started here and has expanded to NZ. The woman who started it has done well, worked hard and is reaping the rewards. The Cairns store is small but I would like to visit a larger one just for fun. There is one near the hotel in Adelaide CC.

I a cute canister with an owl on it from T2. Mum bought for it for me and the only way it comes is with kids "fruity tea" it's alright but I'm not a tea drinker. Love the canister though.  :D
