Yes it is true.  Tried to snow here yesterday but only managed hail.  The mountains not far from here had snow.

Crazy weather in Melbourne at the moment, very cold wet and windy yesterday - DS has 20 boys over for a swim on the last day of school  ;D they all managed to squeeze in the spa and few of the braver ones swam in the pool. At least today there is some sun poking through the clouds. I rinsed and hung all yesterdays bathers and towels on the line so hoping there are only light showers and they will all get dry ready for DS to fold and put away while I'm at work.

Goodmorning everyone  ;D  Yes, we had hail here and snow in the highlands.  Very cold last night with no power for several hours.

Hi CC  ;D

Isn't  cicerchie a broad bean?  If so I have saw some dried ones in Coles. Does she want to pickle or garlic them. If so you can buy them already done in Coles in a big jar with the pickles and olives. I think they are like a fava bean or Lima bean. Chick peas are similiar .

Gert

I had never heard of them until our recent trip to Italy. We were served them in a restaurant in Umbria as part of antipasto dish. They were cooked then mashed with olive oil and truffle paste. Delicious with fresh crusty bread and as the bread in Umbria is made without salt this gave the bread some real flavour. Kind of like a cross between chickpea and lentil.  No idea where to buy them here but there must be somewhere in Sydney I am sure.

A comment from Droverjess in the apron giveaway competition today (sorry DJ, we have to delete comment only postings in these competitions).

What a lovely competition. Such lovely pinnies. I like the monet and the balmoral.
Pity CC and I can't join in. Just had an idea. Could we consider allowing entrants to competitions from outside Australia in the future if we pay our own postage?

I'll have a discussion with the other moderators, there are a few problems that could arise though so we will get back to you on that one.

If I win DJ I will send it to you. I like the Pan but I am sure the lovely Courton would allow me to change it to something you might  like better.
