Just in time for morning tea Gert, your postie delivers early and on a Saturday too  ;D  They look delicious, hard to choose so have one of each I think.  Lovely gift.

I can't believe that the postie delivered this morning but no doubt the contractor is overloaded.

I did open the flat one expecting it to be sweet but it was a lovely soft/crisp flat pastry/cookie with jam on top and I really can't pic the flavour with just one so I am in my third still trying to figure it out. Absolutely yummy . It may be cardamon or not. Maybe I will have another .

As you do Gert  :D  Haven't seen a recipe like that on the forum so your surprise gift still remains a puzzle I'm sure.

CC I have opened the flat biscuits and we have both been hoeing into them. Have no idea what they are but they look very simple and delicious. Very buttery . Lovely surprise.

Hello all.
Well done CC..... Have a well earned rest.... Lovely for all concerned especially Louis.

Watching the tv, X factor final. Went to a coffee morning and later on a pop up shop, plus today unpacked a bit more kitchen today, found my rolling pin, broke my l large Pyrex flan dish. weeded a bit of veg garden, even more food shopping.... .... Large gammon joint for next weekend. DS will be pleased.
Bit more Xmas shopping to finish. Will go online tomorrow.
DH filed in trenches and laid concrete today, he did a great days work towards the boiler going in.

Well done CC.  You will now miss him dreadfully.
DJ ,  you sound like you are getting on top of it.
Morning all.
Gert,  nice to get something you don't make.
Point of interest,  opened a sealed packet of Quince paste that was made 3 years ago.  Slightly more solid but perfectly edible.
Have a great day everyone.

Thanks chookie.... We are progressing but a long way to go yet before we can even have a half decent Xmas.... Your warm weather in Australia and a BBQ sounds perfect but we have rain and gale force winds... LOL
DIning room still to empty of kitchen and laundry stuff.
That is tomorrow's job..... Continue with that and tidy our bedroom and try to put piles of clothes away... Very difficult as all chests of drawers and hanging rails piled into a finished bedroom and very hard to get at.  We still have summer shirts stacked on chairs in our room. We have no sockets connected only a long extension lead and no bedside lights yet... That will be a huge luxury to look forward to. Currently we stumble across the wooden floor using headlamps form cars coming up the hill to reach the switch bY the door. Not very handy if one needs a pee in the night, but the moon can be bright too. Not tonight as very cloudy and wet. Curtains will be a luxury. DD has hers and they are lovely.

New wood stove going in Monday, and ply floor on last bathroom to cover all the ridges where they had to take it up for pipes etc.
Plastering living room Tuesday and bathroom Lino.
Weds or thurs re connect up loo and basin and tile kitchen window cills.
Plus heating boiler going in all week, we hope...

It is good to be cooking again and baking... How I have missed making bread.....
