My word, it's been so long since I've looked at this thread. It's 1517 pages long! I've only read the last five or so to catch up...

Lovely to see Geoff looking so well Judy! He looks shocked at the size of that chocolate frog! So nice that forum members are catching up. I'm so jealous that you're getting to see DJ, Trudy. I would love to see her. Hopefully in the next 18 months or so, DH & I can go to England.

I'm checking in on this thread because I've got a bit of time on my hands again. I've quit my natural health course. It was just too long and involved. It's only an Advanced Diploma, but it's three years full time and a dissertation at the end plus a lot of clinic practice. I just decided I'll be too old to want to start up my own natural health business from home, plus the rules and regulations are daunting. I don't want to be tied down to days working in another clinic, so best thing to do was cut my ties now before I spend too much more money.
The whole course would have cost $34,000, plus the cost of books. I've kept a lot of the books, but am selling those I'm not interested in.

So....I have some time to peruse these sorts of thread on the forum!! I feel like a new woman!! I've cooked, cleaned, washed, read, gone out, done some gardening and all with a smile on my face.  ;D

I had already signed up to become a Celebrant earlier this year and was wondering how I would manage that as well as my studies. Now I can just concentrate on that. I start in August and can't wait!

Good on you MJ. Take a breather. You will be a great Celebrant and of course it will involve shopping for clothes!

Gosh MJ, 3 years and $34,000. The course I did was only 6 months and I found some of it overwhelming, there is just no time for anything else. I'm glad I did it and it got me a small pay rise.
You will be a great celebrant - and it will be nice to see you round this neck of the woods more often.  :D

Sometimes you have to sit down and think to yourself, do I need all this and if you don't - well do what MJ has done.  Take time to smell the roses MJ, I'm always telling my kids to do that but perhaps it's a little too early for them to be doing so just yet.

MJ, how nice to have that weight lifted from your shoulders.  Life is too short.  Being a celebrant will keep you busy enough, imagine all those weddings!

MJ a friend told me one day she was becoming a celebrant. She is a happy, bubbly lady so I assumed she was going to be a marriage celebrant, she isn't. She is a funeral celebrant and has been doing it for about 10 years and loves it.
So MJ is it a marriage celebrant?

Hi everyone, Wayne and I had a wonderful time with DJ, DH & Son.  She said thankyou for the hugs and thoughts.  It was so nice to finally meet and yesterday DJ gave Wayne a break from the driving to take us to see three wonderful but very different gardens and two quaint villages near by.  We would never had know about them if it wasn't for her.  We are now on the home stretch as we leave Britain on Sunday morning for Dubai.  Two nights there and then home sweet home!!!!
