Good night CC & DJ
Morning all!!!!

We are here looking stupid, rugged up as Erin told us it's freezing at home and to be prepared. Everyone around us is in shorts, singlet tops or summer gear.  Think that they must think we have escaped from the madhouse!!!!!!

Hope you feel better today, JulieO.  You must be feeling bad to try the onion trick.
Thank goodness you  are in Airconditioning Trudy.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Good evening everyone!

Quick catch up.

In answer to the question about what sort of celebrant I'm training to be, it's a Marriage Celebrant. I can do Life Celebrations, Naming Ceremonies as well as Weddings. I'll work at that for a while before deciding whether I want to move into the funeral area. I've written quite a lot of eulogies in my time and spoke at my son's mate's funeral (I had a Valium to help me through as he was only 20) and my neice-in-law's funeral , but not sure if I can go down that path.

So glad I've made the decision to quit my other course. DH not particularly happy with me, but it's too bad. Loving all the spare time I have now!

Very cold here, but also getting showers. We've had over an inch of rain, in the old scale, over the last few days. It's been brilliant for the crops.

Sorry to hear you haven't been well, MF, but glad to hear you're on the mend. Glad you enjoyed your visit with DJ, Trudy and you won't be sorry that you're all rugged up!

Julie, hope the onions did the trick!

Chookie, MJ and Bedlam, thanks for the well wishes.   I am starting to feel better, probably a coincidence regarding the onions, but am glad I'm on the mend.  :D

All the best, Obbie!

I was made to feel like an idiot at the Dr's recently. Lately, I've been smelling smoke when there is none. I looked it up on the net and I was led to lots of sites discussing phantosmia, which sounds like what I have - smelling smoke when there is none.
Each reference to the condition stated that it could be due to infection, cyst or tumour in the brain. I told my DH about what I read and he said I had to go to the Dr. I was going for my clicky knee, anyway.

Well, he looked at me as if I was a wayward child (he was fairly elderly) and said that when he was studying fifth year medicine he had every disease there was, heart condition, brain tumour etc etc. and said that the internet was a wonderful thing. He called it the what if? condition and basically told me to stop worrying about it because I had no other symptoms. He told me to take Nurofen morning and night for my knee, which I'm not planning to do, it's only clicking and occasionally hurts.

I'll leave it all for now, but if I start getting other symptoms, I'll be back like a shot.

On an aside, has anyone looked at the latest Coles mag? There's some nice recipes there. I've marked a few, especially the desserts. The Chocolate Fondants sound wonderful! I really prefer the Coles mag to the Woolies one. Woolies recipes are mostly using packaged and pre prepared ingredients whereas Coles use mostly fresh ingredients. Though, I did baulk at the kid's baking section - all that added sweet rubbish!
