I love (Swiss) chard / silver beet.  My neighbour keeps me well supplied every weekend.  I just rinse it, remove the stems (I don't know why I do that, though, as I am sure they are perfectly edible), chop it up and cook it using the water that is already in the leaves from rinsing, it doesn't need any more water added.  I often chop up spring onions, parsley, rocket, kale, etc. into it as well.  I have been told that lemon goes well with it but I haven't tried that yet.  As Chookie said, it boils down to nothing so don't panic if you fill the pot right up, with all that iron it will do you the power of good.

I think I need one of those too thermilover.  Just called into a chemist shop as I had a tingly lip this morning.  Cold sore warning.  Are you run down she asked.  Am I ever I said!  Just what I need with 3 busy weeks ahead.

Thanks for the help with the Chard. I hope the medication helps with the cold sore Judy. I believe if you get in early it's best.

Judy, it is probably a bit late now, but I find Lysine tablets and zovirax ointment work really, but, as Cookie said, catching it early is best.

Morning all.
Looks like a fine day. Yesterday was lovely, no rain. Will spend it in the garden.  DD coming for dinner but will have Corned Beef cooking in SC. mashed spuds in TMX and lots if green veggies from garden.  Queen of Puddings to follow.

Good morning everyone.  It certainly hasn't gotten any worse Denise so hopefully I did get to it early enough.
