Evening all.
It was a lot of rain and the water lilies are growing but too late in the season now for flowers. No sign of fish today as they often sit on the bottom after a lot of rain.
I have unpacked all day and don't seem to be making much progress. Did 5 loads of washing and got it dry.
Over to Cherokee tomorrow again.

Hi everyone, another beautiful day here. Meeting some of my Probus ladies for morning tea and it will be nice enough to sit outside overlooking the marina.

It's going to be cooler here today, although the 30* hasn't been bad as it's so lovely in the mornings and evenings.
Enjoy your outing Judy, you will get there Chookie. I hate unpacking with a vengeance.

Hi friends.
Overcast here this morning and a little chilly walking Chance.I had to put my gloves on as my hands were getting cold. The Hawthorn is in full bloom at the moment.
Did you have a good time with Probus ladies Judy?

Gorgeous blossom Denise. Yes we had a good old chatter with much laughter, not to mention the lovely piece of cheesecake and big mug of cappuccino.

Good morning everyone.
I don't seem to have posted anything for a while ... just overwhelmed with work and life. There always seems to be so much to do and never enough time during the day to get it all done.
We are off to China for a couple of weeks soon and, as always, sorting out my desk, staffing cover and work load is huge and the whole visa application process and additional hotel bookings were time consuming. We are travelling from Hong Kong to Beijing on the bullet train - really looking forward to that (sorting out this was another massive undertaking, nothing was straightforward). Most the rest of the trip is being organised by the congress we are attending, but I still had to sort out a couple of hotels in HKG, Shenzhen and a final day or two in Beijing after the end of the congress. For all the time we were living in HKG we never went as far north as Beijing so actually getting to the Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors in Xian, etc. will be fabulous. Very much looking forward to it all - we'll be totally exhausted when we get back home at the end of it all, but what the heck, you don't get this chance often so we will just have to accept the exhausted!
I have also decided to start a new recipe list in my computer of parts of recipes that are really good and can be adapted or used elsewhere - I recently found a mushroom and green bean casserole recipe - the mushroom part could easily be adapted to be used as a soup or sauce in another recipe, but unless I note it down somewhere separately to the main recipe, I'll never remember it. Similarly, a savoury bread crust topping that was very tasty, a vegan buttermilk option, a particularly tasty mashed potato mixture, etc. I always get really frustrated when I have made something in the past and remembered that part of it was really good, but cannot remember the recipe (or even stand a chance of ever finding the recipe again), hopefully, as I gradually build up my list, my life will be easier ... and tastier
Hope you all have a great Easter break.
