Cool and windy.
I’ve got 3 new Chooks.  Going to place them on the roost with the old girls when it is dark tonight.  I know they will still need to establish a pecking order but I hope it won’t be too bad.

Gee that will be a surprise when the girls wake up in the morning and find their numbers have doubled Chookie.  I hope there are no fights.

When our neighbour gets new young chooks in, he puts them in our empty chook run for a month or so until they are a bit bigger and are more likely to be able to hold their own, if necessary, when he puts them in with his older girls.  Hope your three 'newbies' get on OK.

Morning all.
In the past we have caged the new girls so that they could all see each other.  But I have been doing some reading and research suggests that there is little difference to the behaviour between both methods of introduction. We will see today.   The new ones are 18 weeks old , so nearly the same size as the old girls.

Good morning everyone, our forecast is looking good for Easter.  I feel for those in FN Qld with all that rain and flooding.

I hope the 'new girls' fair ok Chookie.

Judy, FNQ has certainly had some rain. Quirky Jo has been posting some photos on her Instagram account of the waterfalls around her.

No problems with the new girls settling in. Think it may have to do with their previous environment.

That’s great news your new girls have settled in Chookie.

A rainy day here today and it’s turned cold again. When driving my car today an alarm went off alerting me to the fact that the temperature had dropped to 4c.

Morning all.
Hope everyone enjoys their break over Easter.
Cooler today but lovely mild weather.
The new hens placed themselves on the roost with the old girls. Very well behaved.
I’m Hot X Buns out.   Don’t want to see another one until next year. A local shop was selling SD ones for $16 for 6. The ones we made were 30 cents each, or $1.80 for 6
