Good morning everyone, sun is shining again this morning but we know the rain is coming.
Our farmers are doing it tough Katie, life on the land is never easy.

Hello all, yes the farmers are doing it tough, and the big companies keep screwing them on price.

The country needs to support the farmers, before the farmers say no more, and thats it. ( then we would have to import everything.)

All the big supermarket chains and the corporate farms think about is how low they can  get on paying for stuff, so they can make a huge profit. ( I deal with it all the time)

So many farmers near us, and the supermarkets won't take fruit if its not perfect.... they want the best for as low as they can.  Whats wrong with a few marks on the outside of fruit...

ok, Rant over, but i really feel for the farmers, when times are tough. :)
My Thermomix,  Kitchen Aid, Pizza oven, Nu Wave 5 in 1, Spatulas, all brings love, laughter, happiness, and great food  to my kitchen.

I totally agree with you, Robyn.  Down here some milk is so cheap it's outrageous ... I simply to refuse to buy it.  The same with much of the rest of this extra cheap produce, it does no one any favours to support it other than the big corporations - and, in the long run, it will be their down-fall as well.

K Atie, I have been wondering how you were going as you are Farmers.  The Forum has always been supportive of its member in times of need.  If you need to let off steam, we are here to listen and help if possible.
It is extremely windy today and last night.   Not as cold as the wind is from the North.

Ditto from me.
The usual boring 28 and sunny here!LOL!

Drought is the absolute pits. K Atie as said we are a supportive mob and have very good listening ears.

This morning when I was at my cute little Italian shop the Bunnings next to it had a sausage sizzle in support of bales of hay for the farmers. Yesterday I saw a photo of cattle chasing a water truck and found it upsetting. So I decided that I would support the sausage sizzle, I didn't want a sausage in a bun and gave a donation. I hate it when we are charged for meat, milk etc and the farmer is lucky to receive a third of that. My family experienced 7 years of drought in the late 70's, not nice at all. I will now shut up!!

Cool with rain most of the day.
Out for lunch at friends house.
Taught our gardener how to make SD , gave her some starter, and yesterday she sent me a photo of the beautiful loaf she made.
