Good morning everyone.  A very windy day here.

Cookie, are you still ok with the fires?

Yes thanks Chookie. They eventually contained them. DD's friends house was safe. Her parents were thrilled to put her up for the night. :D
Another cool day today. A 31 and a 30 coming up but they are ok.

Today started with a hard frost but the rest of the day has been bright and sunny with a clear blue sky. Still feels cold though. 😂

CC, love frosty days, but as you say, although sunny , can still feel nippy.
I think we are onto Autumn. 28 and sunny, little wind.

Good morning ladies, a beautiful morning and a 31 degree day expected is not that hot these days.  Doing some tidying up in the garage, someone keeps dumping stuff in there - oh, it must be me!  Enjoy your weekend.

Judy the garage is obviously a place to put stuff to deal with later.  ;D

On the warm side a bit today. Not enough to need the air con though. The sea breeze is in now so that is lovely.

A misty day here today. Walked Chance early in the woods. He did nothing but chase squirrels   🐿. Fortunately they are too fast for him.

This is probably a query for the campers on the forum ... Cookie??

I am about to change my cranky old stove in Guildford for the one we had in Melbourne (Smeg) which will no longer be needed after our renovations / extension are completed.

The cranky old stove is an electric oven and hob, the Smeg is electric oven with a gas hob.

We do not want to connect the gas as that will entail having to place ugly big gas tanks outside by our back door, so I am looking at a smallish twin hob induction unit to take the place of the gas hob so that I can continue to cook using pots and pans.  Has anyone had any experience with the small (portable?) induction hobs or have any comments about them?

Thanks.

Marina we bought a single induction hot plate to use when we were away in the van. It has been fantastic. It heats quickly and does all the things it's supposed to do. You simply plug it in to a power outlet. The first time we used it about 7 or 8 friends that were at Monkey Mia sent away for them too. I haven't heard anyone say anything bad about them. We bought ours on eBay I think but I'm sure I've seen them advertised at Harvey Norman's or The Good Guys.
