Thanks Julie.  That is very interesting.  I was wondering about the economics of making my own when I paid $33 for a bottle of cheap Vodka. I must admit that my home made infusion is very nice as it is very strong.  The beans are from Indonesia. Probably about 30 in the bottle. I decant it into a smaller bottle that I also keep a couple of beans in. Might buy a commercial one and compare it.

I didn’t want to hear that weather forecast for SA Julie, if it comes I hope it moves on really fast and doesn't last 4 days like the recent one. My grand-daughter’s birthday that day though and in 15 years we’ve only celebrated 3 birthdays with pleasant weather.
Cookie Balranald is in NSW, do you mean Balhannah perhaps?

Yes Judy. Not very good at your hills geography.

I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas with their friends and/or family. Stay safe and take lots of care if driving. I hope none of you have to do the washing up.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Gosh Julie they take their vanilla essence very seriously don’t they!  For the home baker, I think for what we make it is quite OK and nothing would convince me to pay the prices they charge. Interesting read though.

Re your weight loss Julie, you looked fantastic when we met in the city some years back (how many was it?).  7 years proves you are doing the right thing to keep it off and I take my hat off to you. I just wanted to feel more comfortable in my clothes and I achieved losing 7 kg in 5 weeks, I’ve been going to the gym twice a week for 5 months but that was the first time I have exercised and dieted at the same time.  If I can continue to just eat healthily now without actually following a diet plan and counting calories or carbs then I hope to gradually lose a little more. People who haven’t seen me for a few weeks are commenting on my weight so it is being noticed.
Chookie, thanks for you comment on the photo taken with Mum on her birthday, that was 3 weeks ago.

We are not looking forward to the next 4 days of 35+.
We now have had 4 families of ducklings on our dam.  We think this is because of the island in the dam.  It is a safe haven from the foxes.
Judy you mentioned how fortunate you are to be able to have Xmas lunch with your Mum.  I think they appreciate you being such a supportive member if their community.
Cookie, that is very nice of you and DH to make the effort to spend Xmas morning with your MIL.
CC, what a buzz to enjoy home grown veggies for Xmas.  All I could manage was some lettuce leaves, parsley and onion tops.

Thanks Judy, we met up in May 2014  :o  How time flies  :D  I think I lost about 5kg after that but put on about 2kg after a couple of people commenting I was looking too thin lol.  Am happy now and have maintained that happy medium.

Fantastic with your loss too Judy and doing what you say will keep you happy and hopefully on the right track.  Not putting too much restrictions on yourself stops that 'diet mentality' that often makes up fail.  Over time you will find what works for you and the longer you practice that the easier it is, it becomes your norm.

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas Day.  Ours was very quiet this year but it was also relaxing.  We are picking up our grandson on the weekend to stay with us for a few days, that will keep me on my toes.  ;D

Going to be 41 here today but was a lovely cool morning walk earlier.  DH is working in the garden as there is a blockage in some of our drippers so he has to dig the pipes up underground to try and locate the problem  Not a time for them not to work with it being so hot and dry, beats standing there with a hose  ;D

Keep cool everyone and enjoy your day.  :D

I hope your DH was able to fix the drippers JulieO. We find that ants often clog ours.
It was very humid here yesterday, but not that hot. Cooler today and looking good for the next few days.
Take care in the heat  everyone.

A great job out of the way Julie, time consuming and boring but someone had to do it.

So it was that long ago we met up, I would never have guessed that long. I knew Geoff had to be in care though or I wouldn’t have been able to meet up with you. I was going to give up keto on Christmas Day but DD gave me a whole heap of Keto products so it has inspired me to stick with it a bit longer. It has renewed my interest and it isn’t really difficult anyway.
