Yes Marina the storm did hit Scotland pretty hard. Very muddy here on site Margaret but still okay.
No leaks in the van Judy. Chance sleeps a lot these days so the storm didn’t bother him.
The peaches look wonderful Chookie. Never eaten peach jam.
A dry sunny day here today but colder. Forecast to drop to -5c overnight.

Very little smoke today.  Unadvisedly I spent some time out when the smoke was thick.  It made me feel quite ill.  Feel for those who had no choice but to spend days in the smoke.

CC, that is very cold.  Keep warm.

We are off to our Chadstone Hotel stay.  Looking forward to the break away.  Our lovely neighbour is looking after the Chooks. I hope the veggie garden survives.
We have picked the ripe peaches and hope the ones on the tree ripen while we are away.  I would like to make some more Peach jam.
I will keep you all posted on anything interesting.

Have a wonderful time Chookie and Ral.  It is lovely to spoil yourself. I do hope there are no nasty storms, like yesterday, when you are in Melbourne.
Marina I hope you didn’t have any flooding in the storm, or damage.

Enjoy your getaway Chookie.
I had a hectic and full 3 days so last night I slept like a log for 8 hours oblivious to the fact it was raining quite a lot.  Woke to find 11mm in the rain gauge, that is really good for my area and I’m sure my garden is happy.
Went to gym and found I’d lost another kg, first time under 60kg in a long, long time.

We have arrived at Chadstone.  It is unbelievable.  They have gone out of their way to spoil us.  Everything is so very new.  I read some bad reports on TripAdvisor but have to assume that they were teething problems. Nothing is too much trouble.  We had lunch at the Scott Picketts Restaurant.  Quite expensive but service and food exceptional. A lot of cooking is over flames.  We chose food that was cooked on the flames.  We were given complimentary bread slightly charred in the grill with good olive oil and Balsamic for dipping.  Most Restaurants now charge for this.
When we returned to our room , there was a tray of small chocolate and cakes.  Didn’t need any Dinner.
We have been given free vouchers for 2 lots of cocktails, free Valet parking and free breakfast.
It is all so very hard to take. ,!
Will report on breakfast.  Think it will be quite different.

Cookie, thanks for the thought.  We are fine with no damage.

Our builders were here yesterday looking at our water tank which has flooded a couple of times now.  They rang the manufacturer who said ours was the third call they had had today for the same thing!  Something is going to happen soon, probably move the tank outside so that at least, if it floods, the damage will be outside not inside the cellar.

One of the other problems we are facing is our back door is warping badly.  The door company is not covering us for a replacement because they said the colour (Monument, a very deep grey) is the problem!  So, there you go, you should get the approval of the door company before you paint your doors in case it is going to cause problems!!!  Our architect is spitting nails because all our exterior woodowork, except window frames, is Monument.

Marina, that is very strange about the colour of the paint causing a problem.  The colour is just pigment added to a basic paint.
Quite mild here today.  I’ve decided that I am not a great shopper. I make a list and go for it.

Chookie, I am like you re. shopping.  I make a list, go the shops, look at the list, throw up my hands in frustration and don't even bother looking, I just turn around and go home again.  I think I am a most unnatural female - I don't seem to have any shopping genes in my DNA
