The continual lockdowns must be annoying. I feel for you all. I'm amazed it hasn't come over here.

Yesterday it was very cold. Rain, hail, SNOW and a little sunshine. Today not much better. We had chemist and Woolworths  deliveries and lots of phone calls. Didn’t leave time for cooking.

 DS in Melb recommended that RAL and I stay in lockdown until January.  Victoria is expected to have 2 serious outbreaks of the virus , one in October and another in December. Hospitals will not be able to cope. Mostly unvaccinated people.  Grim.

The weather is certainly cold and miserable at the moment.  Poor DH went rushing out to bring in the washing when it started hailing yesterday .. and, for his efforts, hail stones got down the back of his shirt  .... it was cruel of me, but I couldn't help laughing.

Yes, the outlook for Delta here is indeed grim, but Dan Andrews couldn't keep the state under lockdown much longer; such a huge percentage of the population were simply ignoring it so he has just has had to keep it under control as best he can, but allow people to take responsibility for themselves and give them some freedoms.  It looks like we won't be permitted to re-open until November.  Personally, DH and I are still adhering to full lockdown rules and, for the second year running, the combination of wearing face masks and lockdown has meant that I have not suffered my annual dose of hay fever ... as they say, every cloud has a silver lining.

We are desperate to get up to our home up in the country but that is not allowed as yet either.  We are hoping our Shire council will issue permits soon for 'out of towners' to come up to prepare their properties for the fire season.  At least that will give us a couple of days out of the city.

We have been very lucky with the covid virus so far.  There were two cases early last year but I have seen on the news that there are a few cases now further up the valley.

I can imagine how nice it would be to get away to the country for a break Marina from lockdown Marina. I feel so sorry for Melburnians at the moment with the discontent and chaos going on over there.

The protests here are awful, Judy.  So incredibly selfish and senseless.  It seems obvious that they are being orchestrated by a few, stirring up trouble for the many.  You may have heard that, in addition to a big protest on Saturday, there have been protests today and yesterday at CFMEU union HQ.  Here is a published list of the protestors' "demands":

...  "demands" for the Melbourne protest, including the immediate removal of emergency state powers, an immediate end to lockdown, an end to mask and vaccine mandates, the resignation of Premier Daniel Andrews and chief health officer Brett Sutton, a royal commission into the government's pandemic response, charges against police for "assaulting peaceful protesters", a resumption of all construction sites and "mass distribution of ivermectin, vitamin C, vitamin D an zinc"..

It's not as if the times are not challenging enough as it is, but it really leaves me feeling so angry and depressed at the sheer and utter ... oh, I just don't know an appropriately expressive word I can insert in here ... I'll leave it to your imaginations to fill in the dots.

They certainly want a lot! How to deal with them though, that’s the problem the Government has. I know what I’d do but I can’t say that on here!

I would get the water cannon and put dye in it. Then spray everyone and they can be picked up later and punished, or they will stay inside their homes. Perfect for Covid.

Earthquake in Melbourne and regional areas, I hope you are all OK.

All ok here with Earthquake.  Did feel it.

A building opposite and over on the corner from the kids’ shop suffered some damage Chookie but all OK with their shop and house.
