Oops, forgot Judy’s instructions and Ral snuck into this photo. I’ll try again.

What a huge job you have done preparing the house for sale, well done to you all.
It would be lovely to have Ral in my kitchen at any time! Good to see him up and about. Love to you both

Thanks for the update Chookie, things have really progressed with the house since you last reported in and it must be such a relief to finally have it ready for the market. Wishing you well for a quick sale. I’ve removed the oversized photo for you. So nice to hear that Ral is doing well too, how lovely to see him in your kitchen shot. Love to you both. Xx

Chookie, I am so pleased to hear that Ral is slowly improving and is responding well to the chemo.
What a huge job it ha been to get the house in order for sale, I hope it sells quickly for you. I like the photo of Ral in the kitchen, it looks like he is busy cooking.

So lately when I cook a meal I take a serve for MIL to have the next day . Trying not to do it too often so MIL will keep cooking her main meal at lunchtime. The weather is cold but when the sun is out lately is so stunning . Blossom on the Manturian pears trees ( spelling wrong ,these have no pears on them at all .) a few early spring bulbs out too. Mornings are dark and evenings are getting lighter .

I’m sure she appreciates it K Atie, I know my Mum did. When you live on your own you lose interest in cooking and the older we get the less interested we can become.

I always smile when this page up on my computer as the first post that comes up is Chookie's recent one of her kitchen, with Ral at the bench in the background.- is that called photo-bombing?

Thanks Marina.
Ral had a pretty tough week last week so I looked for ways to distract him. We decided to do a meat pie taste test around Ballarat. I shouldn’t be eating pies but what the hell. We buy pies and coffee and eat them by the lake . We have so far taste tested 5 different ones and the Golden Nugget ones are the best. Generous tasty filling, crust not too bad.
We have now had 2 offers for our house, but neither acceptable. There has been a lot of interest and the Agent is pleased. Much easier to have open house when not living there.
We have also found a house that we would like to downsize to. But don’t want to buy before we sell.
It has been bitterly cold. Lots of rain and cold winds. Frost again this morning. Egg shortage in Ballarat, but our chooks are laying like mad so I’m giving eggs away at a great rate.
Hope for a better week this week and not too many pies. We have veggie soup for dinner to try and balance out the unhealthy lunch.

What a fun thing to do Chookie, perhaps you could not eat the crusts of some of the pies (best part).
I hope the house sells soon so that you can make an offer on its replacement. Well done to your chooks, obviously they don’t find it too cold to keep laying. Will you be taking them with you eventually? Lucky people who are receiving the eggs, there’s nothing like fresh eggs.

I love the idea of the pie sampling Chookie. What the heck, if it’s fun for you both ….do it.
I’m sorry that neither offer has been acceptable. It’s a beautiful home, the right person will be along soon.
Love to both of you and take care.

Sorry to hear Ral had a bad week last week and hope he is coming right and feeling better now. Taste testing pies is an excellent idea, but I think I would go for vanilla slices!
Glad your hens are laying well, at the moment we are only getting one egg a day between four hens.
