Mab, horrid news for you all. On the +ve side I had a friend the same and today she is wonderful. Take care.

Chookie, I followed your trip, and it looked exciting. There are so many firsts for you. Lots of lovely memories for you to think about on your anniversary. Don't be too sad, the wonderful Ral wouldn't want you to be. Big hugs.

I agree, the first anniversary of everything can be painful and it’s OK to feel sadness, if you didn’t then that person didn’t mean much to you. Thank goodness for our families and friends who are always there for us. xx Chookie

Thanks Cookie and Judy.
The highlight of the Cruise , for me, was Milford Sound. We were lucky to be able to go in as the weather is often poor. It was so like Norway with the mountains and waterfalls. Breathtaking. The large ship turned around 1 and 1/2 circles.
For interest, my suite covered half the back of the ship. It had a wraparound deck and was one of the top 4 suites. I was up graded twice. Not really sure why. Maybe because I had to pay double as there was no single supplement. I honestly felt a bit embarrassed to have such luxury to my self. I did invite my friends for lunch in the suite several times and New Years Eve had a party in my Suite as I had the best view of the fireworks in Auckland.

That sounds like serendipity to me, Chookie.  It was good that you had friends who you could share it with.

What a great place to be on New Year’s Eve Chookie. I’m so envious of your experience but if anyone deserved such a wonderful upgrade it was definitely you.

DIL mum finally had her operation on Friday after three postponements.   Her results will be back on Thursday but the family are not  expecting them to be very good.  She is having trouble with balance and eyesight at the moment but hopes to go home later this week.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Mab, sounds very serious but advances in medicine are amazing. She is also in a very good hospital.

That’s sad Margaret, hoping the results aren’t as bad as you’re expecting.

Some areas of Perth (mainly up in the hills) copped a very nasty storm last night. Fortunately nothing here.

Spent a lovely 3 days with DS and DIL. They rent the same cabin on the river at Barton Heads each year. We went to Lorne one day. Best part is the long drive there and back and able to chat about everything.
Book club next Monday and I still need to read one book. Will pick it up today and get stuck into it .just as well I’m a fast reader.
Weather very moderate, warming up a bit next week.

The area around Lorne, Apollo Bay and Barwon Heads is very lovely Chookie. It would have been lovely.
