I couldn't bare not having a wood heater here in Tassie. The winters can be pretty bitter.

Same here Mandi. We had a huge frost yesterday morning. Looked like it had snowed. I love the heat and ambience of our wood heater, but hate the mess it makes.

Oh dede sorry about your DM, and birthday wishes to all.
I know you mentioned your DM's back before but I did not realise it was now. I wish her a speedy recovery.

Take a pic of the bought cake, sounds interesting bearing in mind all the baking on here.

Frost.... Brrr we have only had one good week this summer, although we had good weather in march.

Bit fed up that we've reached longest day for us, as it is down hill for us from now on. I love this time of the year.

DJ, your weather sounds miserable.  I am happy for the same reason as you are not happy - shortest day here and it can only get better from now on (is there s smiley face somewhere with tongue in cheek I can insert here?)

For all those cold and wet I want to repot that Cairns will be a balmy 26 today which is the shortest day of the year. Bring on. Summer eh?

Big 40 for Dede DH the best is yet to come for him.  Poor mum Dede. No hugs but plenty of sympathy.

Big say tomorrow uni and mimics. Photos please with Stewart.

Everyone get warm and have a nice day.

Thank you Cuilidh. No we did not have frost.... I was thinking of the Tasmanian frost.
But I did light fire last weekend.
Warmer last 2'days, but cairns is warmer. LOL
Severe weather warning for tomorrow again and tonight for rain.
English summer.... When it is good no place is better... But mostly it is mediocre. Probably come late. Last year October was fab.

Night night all

Night night Jess.  My DD and her family are travelling to London on Sunday for 3 weeks.  They still own a house in Beckenham.  Hope the weather is reasonable for them.  They promised the kids they would go swimming  :D

Mandi, sorry about your Mum's back.  Wish both her and your DH a happy birthday from the thermomix gang.

Gert, no fair.  Are the nights at least a bit cold?

It's a lovely sunny day here.  Just got back from running the feral fairy to the bus stop, poor dear apparently can't read the time today and left herself four minutes to walk to the bus stop....I think she is enjoying the single child life a little too much at the moment!  The streets are lovely and clean at the moment and everything is looking fresh and green.  It is a beautiful time to be in Brisbane.  I'm sitting at my desk with all the windows open and a lovely smelling house from cookies, bread, muffins and coffee.  Hopefully I'm making the neighbors jealous :p

I think I will be in for a shock in WA but maybe it will be warming up by then.

I am still sitting up in bed watching the morning news and waiting until the sun is up a bit more.

I'm sooooo jealous Gert...mind you I'm not sitting on the south east freeway at 6.30 which is a nice change...instead I'm cleaning out the bottom of my pantry after a rotten potato decided to leak everywhere :( bad potato.  One thing has led to another and now half my pantry is scattered around my kitchen....it seemed like a good idea.  I will have to be back at my desk soon so I have to get it finished now I've started.
