Baby Ruby is doing great, she's a total guts. We often say Ruby loves Booby :D
And my friend has adjusted well and is just starting to put on weight. She dropped down to 42kg :o, she needs to put on quiet a bit of weight before she has a reversal of her operation in 6-12 months as they say the reversal is as big an operation as the first operation.

Yes, it is worse, Mandi.  In fact, for me, it was much worse. But it is a great feeling when it was all over and healed.

So you have been through it too Cuilidh? It's not the easiest thing to get through and my friend is doing an amazing job coping. She can't wait to have the reversal and get back to normal. I guess the best part is that at least she will be able to be prepared next time around not an emergency.

Yes, I went through this approx. 5 years ago.  I sincerely hope there is not a second time around for your friend (unless you were referring to the reversal with that comment of course).  I had my colostomy for about 2 years - and your friend may also have hers that long, so maybe drop a hint or two along those lines to her just to prepare her for that eventuality.  It is best to go for longer rather than shorter to make sure her bowel has recovered, repaired and healed before she has the reversal.

Everyone is up early and a lot of cars are coming into my estate to take advantage of a high spot which is flat And looks out to sea. No houses on it yet. Don't know if I will drive up or just walk to the bottom of my driveway. Everyone is going nuts in town where my daughter looks out to sea from her balcony. Right now the sky is cloudy.    Ai hope it clears for all the people.

Evening CC, morning Aussie.

How exciting. DS remembers looking at an eclipse through a welding mask when he was about 8!

She was first told 4-6 months. Then 12 months. She is so hoping no longer than 12 months but she had a really bad infection that's going to take quiet some time to heal. I will mention to her that it could be longer just so she's not so disappointed if it does go on longer than expected. She has only had the one operation so far. And yes second one would be the reversal.
