Sorry you're still feeling rough CC.  Have you tried hot lemon and honey (diluted with water or whisky, your choice!)?

I don't seem to get sore throats and colds these days (that statement will probably bring something on now CC ;D) but I used to gargle salt water or Cepacaine was good as it numbed the throat and you couldn't feel it for a while, drink lots of water and suck on Strepsil lozenges  - blue ones which numbed the throat or lemon or orange if I just have a niggling tickle in the throat. Everyone does something different - I never bother with bottles of cough or sore throat medicine as such.

If you can take aspirin gargle with disprin, it eases the pain in the throat.

CC - not good to hear you are unwell. I hope you feel better soon and the gargles helps.

Kim - Shame about the car but as you said it can be fixed, unfortunately these things happen when you are tired. It sounds like things are starting to come together at your new place which is great.

Hubby and I are both Costco members, but yes you do need to know your prices for the everyday stuff. The stuff that you really do well with is their own brand and fresh produce. You may pay the same as at woolies or coles etc (maybe cheaper but not always) but it's premium quality. Everything you buy at Costco has a 12% markup on their own cost so a lot of their stuff is great value, you just have to shop smart.

I've been busy tackling some of the junk in this house. In particular the junk room which used to be a TV room until the TV broke and I started stashing things in there when I had no idea where to put them. Then it got to the stage over the last 2 years that I could open and close the door and that was about it.  :-\  :o

So I've basically got it sorted now and I'm slowly listing stuff on our local facebook sell buy swap free page. A bit more to tackle but I can see the floor, and sit on the lounge and walk all the way through. Hoorah!

Good Morning. Hope you are feeling better after a good sleep CC.
I'm having a honey, lemon and ginger drink right now. I don't have a cold or a sore throat just a horrid sounding cough. First time in years. The honey, lemon and ginger is comforting if nothing else.

As Judy suggested cepacaine is good for numbing the throat.
