That sounds wonderful, CC.... here, in NSW at least, blackberries are now classed as a "noxious weed" . . .to be eradicated . . :'( :'( :'(
I remember my mother dressing in my father's fireman boots, etc. for protection to go blackberrying/ Those were the days!!
Your Mum was very wise GF :D :D :D

Morning all.
Emme,  have been thinking of you and that awful weather.  We had the candles out and ready to light up.  Power didn't go out this time.
CC,  I make lots of blackberry jelly.  The GC don't like the pips.  The local council sprays the roadside ,  so the only ones we can pick one are on our property.  They are a real pest when the shoot up in the veggie patch and among the flowers.
0 degrees here at the moment and some snow still around.  Heavy frost overnight.

Good morning all.  A beautiful day here, sun shining.  Julie, I don't know how you can get out of a warm bed to go walking in that temperature.  It took me half an hour this morning after I woke to get the courage I needed just to get out of bed  ;D

Goodmorning everyone  ;D
Hello CC & DJ  ;D  Love blackberries CC.  DH is not keen on seeds in any berries so I usually blitz them first strain and then make jam/jelly

Thanks Chookie, we were walking around with torches. The power kept going off so it was a good excuse to sit and read during the day.   Fine day here after a cold night, snow on the mountains and everything very wet.

Marie, and when the power goes off at night the best thing in the world is having an iPad with 3G.  Whilst everyone sits around twiddling their thumbs we can relax and amuse ourselves for hours.  The time soon goes ;)

I understand Judy, I do  ;D  I've been doing it now for 12 months, very rarely miss a day, I just work around the time of year.  I go much earlier in summer (about 5.30) than I do now (just before 7) though I've been noticing it getting lighter earlier so we are creeping towards the warmer weather for sure!

I don't think about it.  I'm automatically awake about 4.30 - 5.00 and have a 'lie in' until 6.30 so I still feel like I'm sleeping in IYKWIM.  I have good clothes that keep me warm.  The great feeling I get far outweighs the thought of leaving my warm bed,  it makes me feel so good and ready for the day ahead.

When we were in Melbourne recently, we did so much walking it was brilliant.  One day my fitbit recorded 13.4km just for that day!  Feel so much fitter and healthier than I ever have, I must be doing something right.  :D

You certainly are Julie and the payoff is that, as the kids would say, you look hot  :D :D
