My Thermomix arrived back today with new arms. It has been very busy.

Missed it.

Yay!! Wonderful news Gert.Missing mine and it's only been gone five days  :'(  No wonder you were spitting feathers with your TM gone for 45+ days.I never realized how much I used mine during the day.

So good to hear your TM5 is back Gert.  That was such a long and frustrating saga at a time when you didn't need any extra hassles.

Good news Gert. Did they give you anything extra for your troubles? An apology letter? Cover note...anything??

Cookie, you have to know your prices but I'm sure you would love Costco. Buying in bulk is the best way to get the best price without having to wait for other supermarkets to have specials.

Good to hear your TMX is back and you're putting it to the test Gert.

CC, yours won't be too far off.

As if Kimmyh!

Still trying to figure out my buying cooking and eating for one. Some things , sadly, I will probably not be bothered with as they were Ted's favourites, but I will miss cooking them.

Surprising when you realise that you have been cooking for your husband and family for 50 years and now you are just one. Not so much fun and I have to stop myself from standing at the sink and eating out of the pan!

Invited a coupleof gals for spag a
nd meatballs on Friday and will attempt my first Pannacotta. Any hints for that appreciated. Going to use a Tenina recipe and gelatine leaves which were a gift!

Going to use my new Pasta maker.

If that's the gift you got at the Adelaide forumfest Gert, just follow the recipe provided as it works perfectly.  I used 1/2 cup deep moulds eg Nestle moulds.

Good to see you're inviting friends over for meals, it's easy to get slack when only having to cook for one.

Yes it is Judy. I really don't have proper moulds  but some pots that will hopefully work.Never worked with gelatine before as it is hard to find in Cairns. Glad to know the recipe will work. No lime essence but thought I might use a tiny bit of lime juice and then some zest over it serving it with a dollop of fresh cream.

Yes it is true Judy and really not a lot of inspiration when the temp is always around 28/30. Well it got down to 24 in my bedroom last night with the doors wide open.

Gert, about time. Glad it is back.
Go for it with the cooking.  Gelatin leaves come in different strengths.  Better check the recipe and your packet. I like them better than the powdered stuff.

I skipped the lime essence completely Gert, didn't miss it at all. Have you got the kaffir lime leaves?

Welcome home to Gert's thermomix. May your stay at home with Gert be very long.

Poor you Suzanne. You need to go north for the winter.

Judy, Gert and others who cook for one it must be very hard to prepare your meal and then sit at a table and eat it.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Not at all cookie, I sit in my recliner and eat in front of the TV.  Anything goes around here unless I have the grandkids then we do sit at the table.

Good morning everyone.  Today I'm meeting DH and nursing staff at a local hotel for lunch, this will be his second lunch outing and I'm sure he will enjoy being able to choose his meal himself.
