DS teacher keeps checking whats in lunch boxes, until we reminded him, he can't do that.

Hi friends.
It's pretty windy here today.Very dull and very very muddy walking with Chance.He seemed a bit subdued this morning on our walk but perked up when he found another tennis ball.Another to add to the trophy pile.

We weren't allowed to over here Robyn. However when we were having a blitz on healthy lunches we often asked the children to open their lunch box. When we were on lunch duty too we checked on what was in lunch boxes. We never denigrated a child's lunch box as it was usually Mum that made it. However we often gave 'healthy food' stickers to those with healthy food. I remember one Mum who had 4 children gave her kids celery sticks, carrot sticks and a small container of something to dip them into. ( dip, peanut butter etc before we were nut free). Then a piece of fruit. It didn't seem a lot but some poor kids had so much lunch they spent all the lunch time eating their lovely food as Mum said they had to eat it all. It was better than those that simply threw theirs into the bin.
It's a fine line between what the kids will eat and being healthy. A lot of kids don't like sandwiches or wraps that makes it harder still.

I'm sure the teacher's intentions were good.
