Yes the slush was horrible walking Chance this morning. I take extra care in these conditions. I was quite surprised meeting another dog walker on my walk as usually Sundays are very quiet on the footpaths. The dog we meet wouldn't stop barking when he saw us approaching, thankfully he was on a lead and his owner was very apologetic about its behavior.

Morning all.
Nice and cool today.
Changing house insurance.  What a job.  They don’t make it easy.

No they don't >:( Advising everyone to "shop around" is all well and good, but it's so frustrating and very time consuming. In the past, we found NRMA to be pretty good so I have moved all our policies there to get a sizeable loyalty discount.

Good morning everyone.
I hate chasing around looking for better insurance prices, much more important things to do with my time. When I have done it, no-one can beat my insurance company Allianz so I try and get a better deal from them. That’s getting hard though, over the years they have gone as low as they can.

You can have fun though when dealing with insurance companies. DH and I sat sitting side by side at our desks phoned AMMI. Speaking each to a customer relations person, DH to female and me to a male, we obtained separate lower quotes to our currant  policy. We received the written quotes a few days later then did the same again using the Lower quote yet again gain further concessions. We wound up saving over $100 with the same company.  Recently I saved $50 on my car  insurance just by having a chat and a mild threat to change companies even though I had no intention. Also for some who do not drive many kilometres you can get a very good discount by declaring that.

A couple of years ago when I was re-insuring our car I discovered that you get a different rate if you own your car outright to the rate if you are paying it off.  I imagine it would be the same if you are insuring your home - if you do not have any money owing on it you may find the rate to be more favourable than if you have a mortgage on it.

Thanks for all the helpful advice.
What really pi***d me off was that they said they would send me the quote and information via Internet.  When I went to down loaded it, the fine print was in the additional 63 pages.  There was no way that I was going to print this off. Tomorrow I will do further battle and then ask for a hard copy. I probably won’t understand it as it will be written in such a convoluted way.
It pays to do battle.  I get 40% off my electricity and last year got $100 off the car insurance. AAMI are offering 1/2 what WFI have quoted.

We see to have all our insurance with WFI but a few years ago changed it. They seemed to become very expensive. We have 4 cars, a van and then we had a boat trailer as well. RAC seemed good ( same as NRMA) so we went with them. I get a good reduction as I am an over 50 years member.

It is going to be a perfect Autumn day today. No wind and 23 degrees.
CC, walk carefully in the slush. How are the early Spring flowers coping?

Now I understand why you are eating out Robyn.

Quite warm here today and yesterday. It's dropping back to 33* tomorrow. It was 26* overnight, thank goodness for the ceiling fan.
