I can't believe today is Christmas Eve - it has been such a strange year and Christmas seems to have arrived all of a sudden - at least, that is how I feel.
We are going to be crazy busy today so I will take the opportunity now to wish you all a very happy, healthy and, above all, safe, festive season.

I always feel for people who have to work right up until Christmas Eve, guess I did it when I was younger too but that was so long ago I forget how I coped LOL. Sending Christmas wishes to you all and may our New Year somehow return to some sort of normality eventually. Enjoy your break - eat, drink and enjoy your visitors.

We all did COVID tests and it was interesting that we felt relieved. DS and family all staying for a few days. They haven’t been out of Melbourne for 2 years, except for a couple of very short visits. All good. 14 year old is the family nerd and has shifted into the study with all his stuff. GD , 17 , great help in the kitchen and DIL a great cook. Lots of TMX food coming up as I’m giving the 5 to DIL. I’ve thrown out my SD and DIL brought me a new one. Will start feeding it today.
Cool here and I hope Cookie you are coping with the heat.
Although it has been a very difficult year, it has been a very nice Xmas with everyone making an effort. It is the first time for years that there has been just but all our immediate family together.
I hope the new year brings some relief from the COVID restrictions of the past two years to all Forum members.

It sounds like a wonderful family reunion Chookie and those testing kits are very handy.
I spent a long day with DD2’s family at her sister-in-law’s place. I was almost sent to the naughty corner for giving all families a gift basket but they’ve had me for the past 2 years, don’t ask me to bring anything and won’t even let me in the kitchen to help with the dishes after the meal. For a change I slept well last night.

Judy it would have been worth spending time in the naughty corner. A lovely gift.
Chookie your Christmas sounds perfect. We went to see MIL in the morning, then there was the 3 of us for lunch and dinner. My next brother down is coming for lunch today and my youngest brother does his own thing but we spoke yesterday. We have become used to very quiet Christmases.

The pleasure it gave me to choose, wrap and gift the baskets was worth every cent cookie and Costco shopping is made so easy with there being so many choices. Enjoy your lunch with DB.

We had a very quiet Xmas and Boxing day. Went to our neighbour for a light dinner on Xmas evening but spent most of the two days pottering round inside and in the garden and tidying up two year's worth of neglect ... well, starting to tidy up two year's worth of neglect, there is an awful lot to get through. We are staying very close to home due to COVID, but there is so much to do here it is as well we don't have too many social / shopping outings planned.

Another 40+ day here. I am more than over it.44 for Christmas day, almost 44 yesterday and I think today is cooler at 41. I don't really notice as anything over 40 saps my energy.
