ES what a start to the week, hopefully it can only get better.

Chookie, you are certainly never going to forget this holiday - the good and the bad!

Bedlam, pardon my ignorance but what is "FS"?

I think it may be foster son.

Thanks everyone :)
If they had asked, I would have given them some of the rhizome. I had other irises in pots  and others in the garden, but they took the only two plants that I have of this particular iris. Luckily a friend also has some of these irises and she has offered me some of hers.

I have just been down to the school for my eldest daughters final whole school assembly where she was awarded with her graduation sash.
So very happy that she graduated, the assembly was awesome with the year 12's being led in by a bag piper through the year 6's guard of honour (which included my other daughter), the assembly was great, then the kids were piped out through a year 11 guard of honour.
So I am very proud and I admit a little teary to think my "baby" has finished school (except her final exams)!
Tonight we get "frocked up" (well seeing as I don't wear frocks I will wear nice pants) for the ceremony thingy in the Swan Valley somewhere. Should be a lovely night and the kids all get their awards etc.

I just realised bar the final exams - I have survived year 12 - again!
Only one more to go - in 6 years time!

Costco sounds amazing.

Nikkit, congratulations on surviving year 12. Best wishes to your D D for the exams. Like you I don't own a dress.

Gert, fly safely and enjoy the Yellow.

Nikkit, your daughters graduation sounds lovely. We have our daughters tomorrow and then it's "just" the exams to get through. I'm trying to encourage her to eat more things that I make while she is studying but she has bought an enormous bag of junk food to get her through  :-[

Working from home today, which is just as well as I've had some upsetting news and been bawling my eyes out. My DD's friend's dad died last night, he had brain cancer. Got a text from the mum with the news, and apparently her DD doesn't want anyone to know except my DD because she's the only one of her friends who will understand. Then I realised it's 6 years today since my partner died which is bloody ironic. Hopefully I can explain all this to my 8yo - apparently her friend hates all the hugs and sad faces, she just wants to be treated normally, poor kid.

Wonder "just" the exams sounds about right!
My daughter has her first exam on the 4th November, then 6th then a big gap and 18th and 19th November.
And there's not a lot of studying going on here...and she doesn't like junk food as such (except Hungry Jacks and the nearest one is over 30 minutes away and she doesn't have her licence yet!)

We will survive.
With a little help from a restorative drinkie every evening!!

Condolences to you deedub and the DD's friends family.

Lots happening today, some good and some not good.
Enjoy your holiday Gert, I know you will.
Good luck to all the young ones about to have their final exams.
Nice to hear you and Frozzie have been shopping at Cosco Courton, did you buy much?
Such sad news Deb, so hard on the young ones and for it to be today of all days too.  Hugs to you all.

Sending big hugs Deedub, how sad for you that it was on the anniversary of your partners death. All the best explaining to your DD, it's a credit to you and your DD that her friend is happy for you both to know.

Nikkit, not a lot of study going on here either although it's more than I've seen her do in 6 years of high school so I'm thankful she has come good at the right time!! unforutnately DD works at Woolworths as a checkout girl and she sees all the junk food that others purchase and she has no willpower. Fortunately at the moment she has a great metabolism, but I've warned her it won't stay that way with her current diet  ;D
