Michele,  great news.  Thanks for photo.
CC, looks very cold, damp and windy.  Great photo.
Maddy,  I feel for you and all families with school age kids.  It is impossibly busy.

Good luck with the juggling all the activities Maddy - it can get crazy trying to fit everything in at this time of year.

Congratulations to your son and his beautiful fiancé Mich, they look very happy in the photo. Does she have her ring yet?

CC that's great that you were able to, and thought to have them update the sign just for us.

To all the forum friends who were so supportive and helpful  re my dear DM, I am finally coming up for air. I have spoken to her about the nursing home and she understands (most of the time!) that she needs 24 hour medical care. I have put her name on the waiting list in one  she may like. She is still in Rehab hospital and needs an assessment done by ACAT. After that I can finalise the nursing home. Thank you and especially JD for her wise words.

That's good news Courton.  Waiting times on residential care lists can take forever, have you thought of hiring a broker to find the best and nearest placement for you as I did.  It was well worth the money and they can pull strings we can't.  I wish you all the best and hope dear Mum will settle in quickly, becomes friendly with the other residents and joins in their lifestyle programme.  My advice is to visit often and at different times of the day until she settles in and I hope you find a place that you are both happy with.  It is not the same as giving the personalised care yourself but there are some very good care workers out there who do a wonderful job of looking after our loved ones.  On the other hand there are others who are rather slack in their duties and we need to advocate on behalf of our relative if we see anything which is just not quite right.

Courton, hope it is a smooth transition for you all?   - that your mum settles in quickly and the wait won't be too long.

You have done wonderfully well in keeping her at home as long as you did.  :-*
