DJ, I hope this bug clears up soon it's been hanging on for far too long.

Get well soon DJ.

CC I didn't know cars had alarms for freezing conditions. My learning for today. Thanks.

Just having a quick read of the forum after a couple of weeks away.
The TMX has been for it's first holiday in the caravan- we left Boxing Day and got back today. It was such a lovely relaxed holiday. Only went about an hour away, spending three nights in Otaki beach, and then the rest of the time at Foxton beach (where the caravan is staying and we will visit it there - just no room here, and having to build a ramp each time we want to get it in/out of the driveway is no fun! )
Got home to a stinky freezer which had to be emptied (fortunately rubbish day is tomorrow). DH had put the Xmas ham bone and remains in the freezer to make soup with, but sadly the bone didn't really fit and the freezer was slightly open all that time. Well, that's one way to clean out the stray items from the back of the freezer!

Been lazing on the city cat with MrsRC2B today, now just chilling out at the Gabba watching the Big Bash...... Excellent way to spend the day!

Oh no Jo. Yuck. At least you had a lovely holiday. You will probably use the caravan more now that it is already parked and set up at its destination. A lot of people do that down here from now until Easter as the popular holiday spots are a comfy 30min drive from home. Some people go down for weekends and work during the week, making it feel like there holidays are longer.

Today I cleaned out the children's wardrobes to make way for their new Christmas toys. Who would have thought such little people could be such large hoarders of junk!

You poor thing Jo.  My DS accidentally switched off the in laws fridge at their holiday home once, they found it a couple of weeks later. It smelt putrid.
Caravan parked sounds wonderful.

Jo, we used to spend our holidays at Waitarere and occasionally go up to Foxton.  I guess the whole area has changed now.  Do they still have the big market gardens at Otaki?  It was so hard to drive past all the roadside shops and not go mad buying alll the wonderful fresh produce that was on sale.

What a b***er about your freezer, hope the smell didn't go through your house.

How horrible Jo, I can just imagine. Glad the hols were good though.

I managed to bake today and hope I am finally turning a corner from the lurgy but being careful. Only 2 more doses of double dose AB then I hope I will really start to pick up.  Sorting out a bit of unpacking as well in boot room and elsewhere. DH hung up a cupboard on the cloakroom wall and fixed all the coat hooks in the boot room. What would normally take me a day to,sort out I have planned to do over four days this week. When I need to stop I do.

Otaki is now quite known for it's outlet stores along the main road - good shopping but a pain for traffic! They do have a bit of a market but not that much. We mostly go to a garden in Levin to get our fruit and vege - but that's where mum is now, so it's near her and we know it. There are quite possibly plenty of others that I haven't discovered. On the way home yesterday we stopped at one just out of otaki that we used to go to often (probably 20+ years ago), and we were not impressed at all. Not great produce or prices. Felt we would have been better off at the supermarket!
