They're great CC. I must admit I haven't used them in a pot for years. We put them under all our roses etc in the soil. We are only permitted to water twice a week and if you have a bore three times a week. When it is constantly hot things can suffer. We should perhaps try though. We would have to fit it into the automatic watering system somehow. I might see if I can persuade DH.

Sounds to me like everyone has had a productive day. Well done!
We picked up 2 oldest GK's 4 & 2, this morning, we had them for the day and a sleepover. Finally got them into bed 15 mins ago. I won't be far behind them. They will be awake around 6, so I need to be refreshed. Lol

You have been busy DD. Did you enjoy the trip north?

The trip north was good Cookie. The weather was kind to us it was only about 36 everyday so not too hot. We had a good time with DD and the 'orphans' at Christmas. Did a windscreen on the trip up, A truck heading the other way strayed onto the gravel shoulder and sprayed us. Living in the country we have a free windscreen a year on our insurance policy so no big deal.

Work, rest and play today!

Office work, out to lunch to save cooking, watched a funny film, went for a walk, then more office work And after supper baking tonight. Raisin cookies, and MJ's sticky date pudding.

A good day  ;D

Resting today as I'm a bit tired. We had friends over for an Indian curry dinner last night.

We had Michele's sliced Indian chickpeas, Chookie's Indian patties for entree, then Skinnymixers butter chicken, Skinnymixers nonya curry (but instead of chicken a vegie version), a slow cooker beef vindaloo, rice, Chookie's naan, raita & chutney for mains, followed by Nico's coconut cake & Chookie's coconut sorbet. I don't think anyone will need to eat for a week!

Phew Katie, an impressive meal. You deserve to rest today. I hope you didn't over do it.

Glad your recipe turned out well Cookie; I am a bit slow because I want to take photos of our favourites and also keep changing my recipe design; getting too fussy in my old age.

The only thing I overdid Cookie was the food - but I always over cater. Can't help myself!

Katie, may I ask which recipe you used for the Beef Vindaloo?

We used a recipe from a Jane Kennedy cookbook, but adapted it to slow cooker. I say we as Richard made it whilst I supervised! He needs supervision as he gets his teaspoons and tablespoons mixed up - not good when your measuring out spices 😀
