If you think I can help, Gert, let me know.  I will can ask around for you.  Going through this part of the mourning process is so very hard, just take your time over everything.

Thanks Cuilidh.  One of our wonderful forum members put me in touch with a music teacher who has an interest so I packed  up the orchestral scores and DVDs to send to Melbourne. The many books on composers  may go elsewhere and the CDs I still have to go through. There are more than I will ever listen to again in my lifetime. I had to laugh at Ted as there are many repeat performances of the same  music with different conductors and orchestras. Only he could tell the differences. I will keep my favourites. I have found some that  I know I will never play again and that is a blessing, some that are pretty mundane and some are keepers.  If I listened to music all my waking hours I think it would take me years to listen to all of it.  May as well share the bounty.

I also culled over 100 books on Aviation history, Spike Milligan, History and The Goons.  My bookcase is looking pretty sad. Opportunity to paint it!  I also culled my fair share of cookbooks. The music books will be next. Will I ever read 12 books on Sir Edward Elgar again ?  If I never listen to or read another thing about Phillip Glass I will consider my self blessed.

I admire how you can pass things on Gert. For my late DH it was wood and tools - he was a carpenter.

Oh dear Michele that must have been hard. All the tools and timber.  I am doing pretty well. Packed up the DVDs ready to send. Boxing up the scores . They weigh about 25 kilos! The books will go to the Sallies I guess and the CDs I am waiting on.

Some say "how can you do it". I say I have all of Ted in my head and I can visit any time I like . I do not need material reminders. I really to not have a lot of attachment to things. Space gives me comfort not stuff. Weird I think.  Mind you I do not like to have a lot of space in my wardrobe!  But I am limited to the 100 same same hangers I have . When they are all occupied I must cull.  Didn't tell you Michele but a friend in Sydney bought me 24 more Aldi hangers a few months ago. LOL!

Nearly bought a pair of shoes at the Sallies today but realised they were ones I had taken there a few weeks ago!

I did buy a beautiful king size doona cover with 4 pillow cases for $9. Would have cost several hundred I think. It was marked as a queen but suits. Now I have to buy two continental pillows. Thankfully only $12 each at KMart.

When the bookcase is empty I am going to get it painted. It was built especially to hold the CDs as well as everything else.

That's funny about the shoes Gert.  ;D I love clear open spaces too and have little attachment to things.
Being away in a tiny van reinforces how little I really use on a regular basis.

I  visited more op shops in Melbourne and Ballarat than I have in my lifetime as my travelling companion loves them.  I bought a warm jacket for Ballarat $10, a brand new pure wool jumper for $5 and 2 nice scarves for $2 each amongst other things, lots of other things!! My suitcase is almost bursting but it's been great fun.

Gert I had to chuckle over the shoes. You obviously liked them if you almost bought them for a second time.  ;D :D
Judy you had some good buys there. You will be ready for winter now.

I ended up bringing twice as much weight home than I went with, had to borrow a carry on case from SIL girls.
