Thanks girls. DS is young and fit and will heal in time and hopefully won't require surgery.

We went to see a friend today who has Motor Neurone disease today. That is the pits. He and his wife as just so brave. Makes you think twice about the measly sore toe you have.

So true Cookie. It's easy to get caught up in day to day stuff until you remember the hardships that others face.  My heart goes out to those who bravely face things like MN every day.

Best wishes to your mum mcmich. Hope she is back to tip-top condition very soon.

Very true. But conversely, we should embrace the time we have. I've been applying for jobs and doing professional development today, hoping to get my career started soon.

Good luck Sarah. My nephew graduated with his Masters in Architecture in July and is having trouble finding a position.

I have been tearing around the place looking for Christmas presents; I forgot one shop had moved and then had to go back later on. I looked everywhere for nice tins for biscuits but everything was plastic.

Troupie, I got some nice ones at Textile Traders, I think they have 50 o/o off tins at the moment.

Ikea also has tins.  Not a great selection, but nonetheless they do have them (or they did last time I looked).

Thanks for the help; will try Textile Traders when DH comes back from having his turn with the car (its mostly my turn).

I am embroidering MERRY CHRISTMAS on the back of my little quilts for the hospital at the moment. Didn't want to leave the machine in case the thread broke so here I am with a cuppa.

Just spent 2 hours in the garden and the chooks also had a nice play outside their cage. I can only let them out when I am near by as there are foxes around and we are on their circuit.
Will do a little cooking now. Small pasties and small egg and bacon tarts. Inspired by Astarra.

Troupie your quilts are going to be really beautiful and appreciated.

Chookie I had a chuckle at you being on guard duty with the chooks.

Well done on your quilts Troupie.
I laughed too Chookie reading how you guard the chooks, kind of like the meekat at the zoo. One is always sitting in a high spot looking out for Hawks or other predators.

Mum couldn't come home from hospital today. She shed a few tears. Hopefully tomorrow. Other than having us kids she has never been in hospital - I'm 55 so that's the last time she was hospitalised.
That generation is so resilient. She apologised and said if that's the worst that happens to her she has a blessed life.
I hope I always have her outlook on life.

Your poor Mum Mich. It would be so hard if you had your heart set on going home. Keep up the big hugs for her.

A nice pre-Christmas catch up with Karen, Sue, Kerry and Katie for lunch at the Wakefield Hotel today. Lovely to see you all again, sorry no-one reminded me to take a photo!
