Spent most of the day so far lying on the couch keeping an eye on the girls and forumthermomixing - have extreemly low blood pressure at the mo and everytime I sit/stand up I get all dizzy. Thankfully it only gets this low every couple of weeks or so, but it will probly be like it all day today and most of tomorrow. Glad it is Friday!  :)

That's not a good idea Amy, sounds like the door won that fight. Take care.

WhooHooooooo...about to break out of my office and be chauffeured home, top down (the car's not mine :P).  I love when my son doesn't need to be driven to and from school, means I get to go in the fun car.  I've decided no more work today......I'm not even turning my laptop back on when I get home....I'm going to throw on another load of washing (cos I'm neurotic with washing) and then I'm pulling my sewing machine out for the night and I am going to continue my Drop Dead Diva marathon.

Hope you guys are feeling better soon.  Astarra, do you know what causes your BP to drop so often?  DH's drops right down to something over 50 at times but no-one seems to know why and it is quite scary.

Morning all
Amy and Astarra rest up and take care.
Heads can be nasty I've had concussion a few times, all farm related.

Take it easy.

It's 7am and the house stinks of bacon because DS lives on another timescale to us as hewrites his dissertation and despite several large meals he obviously cooked bacon in the middle of the night.

Haven't looked to see if a mess yet.

JD  - no theyhaven't managed to work anything out about my  BP, it generally only gets bad enough to be dizzy with it when I'm preg or b/feeding (when they can't give me anything for it either), not very often otherwise. :) I have fainted with it a few times too, which is scarey not only for me but the girls and DH too, so now when I'm dizzy the rule is to stay lying down.  :)

Sound like a good idea to me.  DH's goes as cold as ice and is like a rag doll until, for some reason, his BP and temperature start to rise again - probably takes 1/2 hour by which time the paramedics have usually arrived anyway.

Astarra   Best to stay down. whatever it is and if it is ever cured say nothing to no one. It can be a great asset when you just want to be quietly on your own. Useful when  the kids are teenagers.

I think you're right Mandi. Apparently it pays to keep your guard up around doors... they don't fight fair :(
Thanks everyone for the caring comments :)

Astarra, that sounds very scary! :o I hope you are going okay. Take it easy :-*

Gert,  I actually quilt not dressmake these days although I used to make clothes.  I was taught to sew by my grandmother who owned a dressmaking factory in Leigh-on-Sea in England.  I was taught on an industrial singer when I was about 4/5.  I'm amazed I still have fingers.  Here's a photo of the quilt top I'm working on tonight on my reproduction Singer Featherweight.  There is also a photo of what it is a reproduction of (just a lot larger).

Get well quickly Astarra and Amy watch out for those doors.
I remember walking into one in the middle of the night and did the same thing. We had just moved to a small (gossipy) country town and that day I had been discussing domestic violence with the year 7's. I didn't dare go to school or show my face until I could cover it with makeup.

Today I had a coffee with DD out and have put heaps of apps onto my new ipad. I do so love it.
