We're not scheduled to get NBN for a couple more years yet. It will be old hat by then.

We have NBN at both houses.
DS set us up at Invermay. Could never have managed it ourselves. This one is Telstra.
At Cherokee it is attached to 1 computer, if we want to use our iPads there we have to buy a router. Only $100, but just haven't got round to it. This is a satellite one and we were lucky that we had a direct line through the trees. Our next door neighbour has trees in the way and is not allowed to remove them.

I doubt I could even begin to set it up Chookie. That's horrid for your neighbours.

That's ridiculous Chookie, even if we don't want NBN we at least have to have it connected to the house. Then not to be able to use it because of trees, what the???  They're all over the place down here at the moment but it could be 12 months before it's connected to the house - I hope it takes longer.

Judy. The NBN at Invermay was available to the house but we didn't have to have it switched on if we didn't want it.
At Cherokee the Internet was hopeless. The NBN there is a great improvement.

I was there when they connected it to DD's house Chookie, that was a while back now. Good to hear it made an improvememt to Cherokee.

Still no land line nor internet here.

"Still no land line nor internet here." - that's taking a long time, Judy.

It sure is Marina, I believe those over the road have their landlines back with a weak dial tone so at least they are working on it in this area, maybe next week.  They've called in teams from interstate to help with the massive outage.

We had an old car run today. One of our younger members is an assessor for the RAC (I think it's NRMA for you). He was flown to Adelaide to help them.

CC, there is nothing like a nice girls' day out, chatter, chatter and more chatter.  Good fun. ;D ;D

CC, sounds like a perfect day. I can still remember shopping with you in London. Still using the goodies I bought.

Absolutely nothing. We had guests for dinner last night and just as I was about to put the Garlic Bread Pide ( Chookie's recipe) into the oven I realised it wasn't heating up. I eventually steamed one and browned the top in a small oven we have for the van. My main meal had been cooked but had to be re heated in the microwave so didn't look too brilliant.
So today the baking I had planned has gone out the window. It's amazing how much I feel at a loose end with no oven to bake in. I do hope we don't have to use bought bread!

I'm not sure if we will look at a new one or replace the element. It has worked very hard.

Cookie, I wrecked the element in my oven making the Vienna bread. The technician said the steam was the problem. I now steam it over the sink with boiling water in the sink and cover with a small table cloth over the tap.
Our ovens do get a work out making bread. Have you tried the SC? Not as good but when desperate, ok.
I also make rolls in the AF.
You can also make bread in the Weber Q.
