Jen if you are travelling with nuts you can't very well put them in glass containers as they will be too heavy.  I often buy various sizes of plastic containers (Decor from Foodland usually) for my biscuits or nuts to ensure they stay fresh if I haven't got enough jars with lids.  That way they get 2 gifts - the contents and the storage container.

Thank for the idea JD I've packed them into celo bags, I have, 3 jars of strawberry jam and mustard, with the puddings and cakes my hand luggage is going to be heavy, forgot about the fudge.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

Thanks everyone for lovely comments  :) , does make me a proud Mum with warm fuzzy feelings when my kids get something special. She has worked hard this year.

Love your cookies in a jar Kimmy, would be so much easier than the Chocolate Spoons that I made from the recipe in BH&G mag. They were fiddly. (Hence the people I am giving them to are only going to get one each!)
