Sad news Hally - all the best to you and your family.

I'm currently in wind down mode.  My contract here is coming to an end and I am now finishing off and handing over the department tio my current downline.  I hope it all goes well for them.  I have to say I am super excited to be coming home and spending some time with family :D.

7 working days to go (not including the last hour of the day here...)

Hally, such sad news :( Thinking of you and your family. Hugs xxx

Mandi (dede?), glad to hear that your mum has a good prognosis. Hoping that she sails smoothly through chemo. Hugs for you, too xxx

I did a 13k run this morning as part of my marathon training (first week). I have a 18-week training schedule for a marathon in April (in Canberra). It will be my first 42.2km :) I am a new runner and am slow by any standard, but I love running (ok, a tad obsessed), and I have been pretty consistent this past year. I even have a training blog, where I record my thoughts, training, races, etc.

My plan is to run two marathons next year: April in Canberra and September in Sydney. My goal for each is pretty modest: To finish :)

Maddy your cat is crazy!!!!!  :D :D :D
Love the look on his/her face  ;D

LOL....I pulled him off the fly wire 5 times today!  In the end I just shut the window  :-))

Hally....not great news, sorry.  Can I just say though, these golden oldies can be stronger than you think sometimes.
89 year old FIL was on deaths door 5 months ago.  Family were all called in to say goodbye,  because they were losing him, and the doctors said that this was it.....fast forward until now, he's back in his village and cooking his chops for dinner.
Keep positive   :-*  Your MIL is a different scenario, but they can surprise you with their will.

DJ....you busy bee....some lucky people are to receive  8)

Dede....Hope your Mum gets over the chemo ickyess soon.  I found after about the 4th treatment, I actually started feeling much better with the treatment.  It did get harder though towards the end at the 12 month mark, and a bit of depression set in...I think I was just so exhausted of trying to stay strong, and putting on a front for everyone that I was coping....which I really wasn't.
I know you will keep a close on her  ;)

.........EAT CAKE!

Maybe pussy wanted to go outside maddy - do the claws get stuck in the wire?  I can't believe it wasn't ripped with the weight of the cat hanging off it.  Such a gorgeous expression though.

I  did my first 26.2 miles last year TL. It is a great feeling when you cross the finish line. I am hoping to do another one next year.  I was trying to run one this year but injury and life got in the way.  Good luck with your training.

LOL Suzanne.
Thanks H.

H denial is very common and many people do not admit they are in the final months/years, especially to their children.
A lifetime's habit of being strong and there for family is a hard one to change, especially for that generation.

The chocolates would probably make here feel very ill with the diabetes.

You can only do what you think best.
Can you use Skype, could someone take a laptop to MIL?
Thinking of you and sending huge hugs.

I think they are both in denial, dh was talking about cancelling our big trip next year in August & I said I really ddnt think she woud be around by then, he informed me she would be fine, I tried to point out what the sistes told us from the Drs but he wouldnt listen. Yes my mil, nursed her mum, had 5 kids & looked after 2 grandkids, she is a strong woman, but her body is so frail now.

I just wish it woud all go away & life woukd return to normal.

Dede, my frend gets yucky after chemo, but she says it does get better.

Cancer is a nasty painful disease.

Busy day today which is good, dentist not so good, & my meat order comes today, having it delivered as another friend wanted a lamb, there is only so much you can fit into a hatchback, lol

H :)

Hally - thoughts and prayers are with you and your DH - I can understand your DH wanting to postpone your trip . . but so much can happen in the meantime. Just wish there were words to help you both feel better  . . .unfortunately, these hard times are all part of life's journey and you will come through it - one step at a time.  I daresay a lot of us have been there in some way or another.  Wanting to send you as much peace as possible . . . :-*
