Sping/summer/too hot to do outside jobs - so cleaning inside today. Have done all my kitchen cupboards except 4 drawers, they're on the list for tomorrow. I figure if I haven't used it in 12 months - out it goes!
Nearly...there are a few things I can't chuck, but am getting a bit more ruthless as time goes by!
I have 5 boxes of "stuff" to go to Good Sammy's/Salvo's.

Cookie, DH is so welcoming and we had no trouble chatting away while you were picking up Hally.  :)

He's fine really Michele. Just doesn't like going out very much. In fact doesn't like going out.

My DH is the same. He prefers to stay home, which suits me fine. I can go out whenever I want and he is happy to stay home and look after DS.

Trying to catch up on my unread posts this morning.  I've missed a lot over the past few days.

We've had visitors staying with us, which was lovely but tiring.  They left this morning.  Have washed all the sheets and towels and put the house back in order.  I think I might take it easy and rest for the remainder of the day  :)

I've made a few phone calls this morning to organise things for DH.

1) Wheelchair maintenance - they are still on holidays and if it's too hot they won't come out next week either.  Can't blame them I wouldn't either but too bad if your wheelchair was broken and unusable.  Ours only needs air in the tyres and a bit of a service as it is making all sorts of noises.

2) Arranged a care worker to sit with Geoff so that I can go on a full day carer outing on the 15th January.

3) Chased up Disability Services to see how my application for more help is going?  Still waiting to go before the board.  That's OK, just wanted them to know I am still here.

4) Got the ball rolling with a request for respite in a nursing home in August so that I can attend the Adelaide retreat.  Was told it would have to be a 2 week stay but figure I am going to need a break by then anyway.  Some places won't take bookings so far in advance but my contact is going to see what she can do for me.  Will tell DH when the time comes, no point stressing him out for 8 months.

5) Had the doctor pop in to see how Geoff was going.

6) Organised a car service and eye test to coincide with my cleaner/carer being here next week.  Really happy I was able to lock these 2 appointments in.

On the kitchen front I have a loaf of sour dough rising and some chicken pieces in the weber for lunch.  A neighbour is going to pop over this afternoon and cut Geoff's hair for him so all in all, a fruitful day here with lots achieved.
