Beautiful flowers Chookie and trout is a wonderful Fathers' Day gift.
Congratulations to your DSD KAtie. He must be feeling very proud, as I'm sure you are.

I seem to have been out of circulation for a day or two. I was reading the forum but not posting. No specific reason really. I prefer to use DD's computer as my ipad is very slow to load the forum.
I had an x ray on my neck on Thursday. It has been stiff for several weeks now. My Doctor (who is the same age as me!) said he thought it was ;just degenerative. I have to see the diabetic nurse tomorrow, then him so he will tell me for sure. I tend to agree with him.

Sorry to hear about your neck, Cookie.  To use a well-worn platitude (being used in the most sympathetic way by me at this time) is it something you "just have to live with" or can something be done to help?  You are the first person I know of with such an ailment.

Reading Cookie and Marinas comments.  As I am older than both of you , I can assure you that as you get older you get aches and pains in various parts of your body and it is a bl+++y nuisance.
Cookie, I hope something can be done for your neck.  Marina , I hope your knee has recovered.

I am providing 2 plates of goodies for an afternoon tea at a concert next Sunday.  I am trying to decide what would be best. I have been looking at a couple of Helen Gohs recipes.  Has anyone made any of her recipes ? Will probably make Portuguese Custard Tarts for one plate.

I had a lovely laugh at that Chookie. It is a .................nuisance. The Doctor was lovely. I just get to live with it Marina. He said I could go to a pain specialist but I will save that for down the track. I'm going to try the lovely young man that helped me with my back/leg. The doctor said NO MANIPULATION but this physio has his head screwed on correctly and will know that. I have the report to take to him. The doctor suggested a lower pillow the other day or one of the shaped ones. I'm using a lower one at the moment and that does help a bit. I guess I will get used to my neck hurting as you do with all the other niggles.
No use moaning, things could be a heck of a lot worse.

I am onother one in the more mature age group (I am not old) and have to agree with Cookie & Chookie regarding the aches and pains.

I have just spent 2 days cleaning, sorting and rearranging my pantry, this includes 1/2 day shopping out of town for shelving, storage containers etc.  The pantry looks good and I can find everything, but there are now parts of me saying I have done enough.  Time for a cuppa I think.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Mab, like you I am certainly not old. How do I know this?  I am often asked if I am eligible for a Seniors discount.
Love the sound of your pantry.

LOL Chookie!

I still find it disconcerting that people offer me seats on public transport.

My absolute pet hate is when there is a road accident or someone hurt and they say 'the elderly man/woman'..... the person may be 65 or even younger. I have told DD that if it is ever me I want her to sue them as I am not elderly by any means. (I am joking about the suing)

I’ve enjoyed reading these last few posts about ageing LOL.  Sorry to hear you have another problem cookie, if there is nothing that can be done to ease the pain that will be a bummer.  What sort of pillow do you have?  I have a memory foam pillow and I love it, if I stay anywhere else I have trouble sleeping without my own pillow.  Perhaps you could try one if you don’t have one, it is a great support for the neck.

In regard to being referred to as ‘elderly’ in news reports, my pet hate is when they say ‘a grandmother has today .......’.  Why can’t we just be referred to as a woman grr.

Today this old lady went to the Royal Show with her son-in-law and his Mother.  Such a beautiful day and boy did we do some walking.  I should sleep well tonight.  Only disappointment was that I bought DH a Star Trek sample bag (his favourite programme), I asked for a size Small in the T-shirt and discovered when I gave it to him that it is a Large!  He will swim in it but I can’t take it back so it’s just one of those things we have to live with.

That t shirt must have been disappointing .... it is something he can look forward to wearing in 5 ... 10 ... 15 years' time

I found a showbag comment link on the show website Marina so last night I wrote to them explaining the situation. Hopefully they will be able to exchange the t-shirt without me having to go back to the show so I will hold off having it name tagged in case they do help me out.

Thanks for the pillow advice Judy. The doctor suggested a pillow change. He said a Bamboo pillow.  Apparently it is a type of pillow, not made from bamboo. From what I have read it is a memory foam one.
I will be looking into it. I have been using a dunlopillo.  I'm not sure if it is a shaped pillow or not.

Judy the T shirt may make a good night shirt!.
I plan to go to the Royal Show when it is here at the end of the month. I really enjoy it.

I had a good laugh this morning. I had my 6 monthly diabetic check yesterday and today the details were faxed through to me. They have a new diabetic nurse. Apparently since my last visit in February I have grown 2cm, lost 1 Kg, and my waist measurement has gone up 12.5cm. I will accept the first two but there is no way my waist measurement has increased by that. DH said it will be good as the next one it will decrease by a lot more than usual. Fortunately I had a good laugh over it. All the really important details were very good...although I would have liked to grow a bit more than 2cm.

Cookie, we have a couple of Bambillos and they are very good.  It could be worth giving them a try.  My only gripe with them was that I found them too hot, even in winter, but as Judy didn't mention that I think that that is just me and not the pillow.
