Wish you well to use it Maddy....I hope you have many years of lovely meals out of it.  I LOVE pressure cookers and have an old aluminium prestige one as well as a 5-in-1.  I also have a cuisinart electric that I have to remember to drop down at Lifeline because it and I have come to the end of our travels together....it hates me.

This thread reminds me that I have to pick up a piece of corn beef and a chicken before brat boy gets back....he will pout if there is no cold meat for his lunches next week.

From what's in my mind from just recently; the Rich Beef Casserole was really nice.  I think it was from the Suzanne Gibbs book if you have that.  I don't think you'll go wrong from any of the recipes in either that or the WW one that appeal to you.  It shouldn't take long to get used to at all and you'll be able to convert recipes.  I look forward to seeing how you go.  :D

As a general rule if I am converting a normal oven recipe, I approximately halve the amount of liquid, cook for about 1/3 the time and thicken at the end.

I made this in the pressure cooker a couple of days ago...I just omitted the 1/2 a cup of water in step 3, cooked it for 25 minutes and used the flour dissolved in a little water after it came off pressure to thicken it....it was really nice.

It was yum, it didn't look as attractive as that because the eggplant actually cooked right down and went mushy but that actually was good because certain whiny people in my family don't eat eggplant....but he didn't even realise it was in there...and I didn't point it out.

I too have a Kuhn Rikon and do love it (8 lt size) - noticed that Everten have that size for $334 which is an amazing price - check the price of the smaller size CP  :)  :)

I ordered this one on Monday. Can't wait for it to arrive now.

Johnro I will have a look at their prices. I know I bought the largest one and that was over $400 so you have got a very good price. My all time favourite recipe is the Osso Bucco from the WW book  :P the other night I added a heaped tsp of caramelised garlic

Has anyone had experience with Cuisinart 6l pressure cooker? They are reduced at robins kitchen to $150
I had a look at Cuisinart website and wonder if it is a good buy.
