Loved Les Mis  and went with DD- didn't think I would like it with singing at the press of a button but couldn't help myself.

Does anyone remember way back probs early December  when I managed to capture some idiot who smashed into RIGHT HAND SIDE PASSENGER DOOR  in a shopping centre car park? Turns out the poor girl then was in another carpark visiting her friend when someone smashed into her FRONT driver door. She's up for a bit of money with the second smash but she looks to be a battler and wants to meet me somewhere local and give me a thank you present because she doesn't have to pay out thousands for the first smash. I feel so rude cos I haven't answered her SMS cos I don't want a thank you gift, and I'm not sure I really want to catch up with her (ie. I don't want a "needy relationship" to develop). Help?

Just tell her to pass it forward and that will be thanks enough. No need to get involved. I think most people under stand the pass it forward concept these days .

Judy, just caught up with your news re help with Geoff, so happy for you.  :)

Have a great holiday Obbie  ;D

Agree with Gert, CP, if you do contact her just tell her to pass it forward by saying "Only to happy to help, gift not necessary, you maybe able to help someone else in the future"  "All the best" or something like that.

Astarra, happy things are going well for you  :)

Sorry CP, I wouldn't know what to do in that situation :-\ But I guess you could do what the other girls are suggesting. Tell her you know she would have done the same for you. Tell her to save the money and use it to repair the other window.
Its a tricky one because it sounds like she's just trying to show her gratitude :-\

I can understand where the lass is coming from CP - I would also want to show my appreciation.  There is no need for a needy relationship to develop, she may get a few things off her chest but if you have the time, I would certainly meet the poor girl.  You might just make her day with your lovely smiling face and friendly nature.

I remember when my DD had her handbag stolen from a nightclub.  It was dumped in the yard of an old lady in the hills, miles from the nightclub and there must have been enough information left in there for her to ring DD (no money of course)and let her know she had the handbag.  DD went up to collect it, armed with a bunch of flowers and the poor old lady was so scared of strangers that she opened the door a few centimetres to hand out the bag and collect the flowers.  It was nice of her to do the right thing even though she was obviously not looking forward to the exchange.

Thx everyone. I didn't want to hurt her feelings, and I don't think it would be a quick meeting so I think your suggestions for a similar reply text will do the trick   8)
