I made Fruity Porridge off the forum yesterday, a favourite in the cooler months.  I made half the recipe which does me for 3 mornings.  :D

Ral thought he would spoil me and give me tea and toast in bed. The tea was nice but the toast rather strange. Fruit toast with vegemite. I dont think that this will catch on.

I never thought I would say this but I am sick of eating, there is so much food here to try, I had vegemite on toast. Not sure on the vegemite on fruit toast chookie at least you got breakfast in bed. The thought was there.

Mmm, not sure I'd like it either Chookie, bless him.

It's a bit like that when you stay at resorts or go on cruises Jenny, food, food and more food.  Try everything in moderation and you'll be right.

Nice thought to bring you breakfast in bed Chookie but odd combination. Does Ral eat vegemite on fruit loaf or did he just mix up the loaves?

I had a chuckle over that Chookie, I don't think I would like those flavours very much.

Jenny I know how you feel. I even get like that at Christmas.

Donna Hay's recipe as requested by Kat.  :)

COFFEE & DATE PORRIDGE serves 2 (I reduced this from 4 servings)
70g rolled oats
½ tsp instant coffee granules
375g water
½ tsp vanilla bean paste
20ml maple syrup, plus extra to serve
30ml single pouring cream, plus extra to serve
3 fresh dates, pitted and chopped (reduced this from 6 as I thought 1 ½ for each serve was enough, but it's a personal choice)

Place oats, coffee, water, vanilla and maple syrup in TM bowl.  Cook 9 mins/90C/speed spoon.

Add in the cream and mix on speed 1 for a few seconds until combined.  Leave in bowl for a couple of mins to thicken to desired consistency.

Divide between 2 bowls and serve with dates, extra cream and maple syrup.

I sliced some raw beetroot on the mandolin and then dried it in the dehydrater. Ground it to flakes in TMX. I added 1 teaspoon of flakes to my cooked rolled oats. Lovely and healthy. 1 teaspoon of the flakes is equal to 1 small beetroot.

I am going to add some to my Granola and to my Bol sauce.
