Just finished Maggie O'Farrell's "Instructions for a Heatwave".
I usually love her books, but this one just didn't quite gel for me.  My review here - http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/707205793

I finished Beautiful Ruins which I really enjoyed, and I've just started The Light Between Oceans which was a gift from the naughty Gert. Thanks again Gert, I'm already sucked into the story!

I managed to get to Book Club on Tuesday and our new book is The Paris Wife. It looks good. I'm currently reading a crime book I won from the local Dymocks.

Am I the only one reading? Finished The Light Between Oceans which I loved and would recommend to anyone, many thanks for the gift Gert. Also recently read The Misremembered Man which I downloaded because it was cheap and I liked the title, turns out it was a great choice and I've since downloaded another book by the same author, also cheap (Christina McKenna). Right now I'm reading The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith (aka J K Rowling), seems very different from her last book, early days though.

Let us know what you think of Rowling's latest book Deebub. Have just finished john Berendt's Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. A non - fiction set in Savannah around the late 80's - full of interesting eccentric characters. A good read although a bit dated - naturally!

Actually that is a novel  Courton though you would think it non fiction. They made a movie of it with  Kevin Spacey playing JIm Williams and Jack Thompson playing Sonny Seiler. He did a very good job with the accent too. John Cusack was Kelso.

I haven't started the Rowling book yet but have downloaded the sequel to the Briny Cafe by Susan Duncan called Gone Fishing. Set in Pittwater where we used to have a boat. Also Colleen McCullough's  Bittersweet. I have pre ordered a few but can't remember and haven't got to Never Go Back by Lee Child. Oh yeah I have ordered a Michael Connelly, a Wally lamb and long on order is an Elizabeth George . Hopeless I am.

Meanwhile I have 83  unread books to read!

At the moment I am reading puffball by Fay Weldon.

I really enjoyed that book when I read it years ago, and I've since read another one of his which was set in Venice - cant remember the title, something about Angels? About the burning down of the opera house, good insight into how the Venetians live - the posh ones, anyhow!

Nearly finished the "Drowning Guard" by Linda Lafferty.  I don't usually read her books but had this one recommended and it hasn't been a disappointment.

I've just finished The Rosie Project and thought it was an amazing book. I am looking at reading Tim Winton's latest next. DD has an advanced copy.
