Loved that book. If you like it then Practical Jean is another fun book.

Sounds like I need to add The Help to my reading list as I really enjoyed the movie.
I missed the TV series of The Slap, and can't really say that I'm loving the book. I found it hard to get into as it was hard to differentiate the characters in the beginning, but I'm enjoying it more now, although I'm only halfway through.

I'm reading Amish Grace. True story about the Amish girls that were shot in the school house in Pennsylvania.
Beautiful story of forgiveness and the whys and wherefores of Amish life.

My faves recently have been The Guernsey Potato peel Literary Society, The Book Thief, Hunger Games Trilogy, Robin Hobb's Farseeker and Liveship series, Pride and Prejudice, and The Lonely Werewolf Girl.
Also enjoyed Middlesex, The Taliban Cricket Club Frankenstein and Dracula.
I don't have a kindle but an iPad and have found OverDrive, an app that let's you search and borrow spooks from Aust libraries for free. Some you can join online without ever going there. Have also used Guttenberg collection for free online classics too.
Have decided that I am quite happy reading evokes on my iPad but won't pay for them. If I can't share a book with friends and family I don't want to lay for them. Have seen some great suggestions here to keep a look out for.
My book club were not at all impressed with Shades of Grey either.

Thank you for the app info. I have just downloaded it and downloaded a book from my local library. I have heaps of books in the cupboard and more on my ereader and of course I had to borrow from this new elibrary.
Can you borrow from more than one library ? Or just your local one. I found that although there were quite a few books available there were not many available to download. It just shows how popular e reading is.
Thanks again.

Hi Cookie. As I understand you can be a member of as many libraries as you like and borrow from all of them. You are right though, they don't have a huge number of copies but you can put a hold on books. The library I joined is nowhere near me - but they let me join online and had the book I was after. I keep meaning to send DH off to sign up at some others too.
Also worth noting that you can download the book on multiple devices too, you just log in to overdrive using your library details, so this is one way to share a book - I borrow for my DS11 and he logs in and downloads on his iPod. Works really well.
