Did a GIGANTIC down size last summer before moving.
Way more than 40 bags.
We sold on eBay, but gave most to charity. They brought a small lorry to take it away, and we had lots of car loads away as well!

Will look through again, but doubtful will get much more. Maybe some thing in the clothes cupboard. Trouble with farming is old clothes are needed for outdoor work.

Good idea though. It was hard I threw things out that went way back... Trouble was we'd always lived in very big farmhouses... So had plenty of room. Now we livevin much more normal sized 4 bed house with no utility room.

I already have stuff to put on ebay. Am cleaning the rumpus room tomorrow, at least a bag of mags to take in to work.

I should do this, but I'm already doing the food challenge, and concentrating on making more space in my kitchen cupboards. Maybe this will be my next project.

I would love to do this but just don't have time at the moment. Maybe later in the year,it's a great idea.

ES, I obviously have way too much time on my hands. Am doing the $100 food budget challenge, pantry and freezer challenge, must start the weight loss challenge and will start the 40 bag challenge tomorrow.

Count me in on this I have taken a boot load today to the Red Cross shop, just from the spare/junk room. have cleaned out my craft room and have more to give away and put on ebay, then it will be the bedroom, its amazing what you collect over the years. And its only the 2nd day of holidays.
Loving all these challenges.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

Jen, the craft room. I have boxes of things that I haven't looked at in 2 years since DH and I got married. Missed none of it.

I've decided to clean out my craft room and make some beds for the dogs and cats in animal shelters.

I've got lots of old washable wool doonas in varying sizes which I'll cut to size, then cover with old doona covers or some of the micro fibre pieces I've been hoarding.  Should help to keep the poor babies warm till they find their 'forever home'.

I'll post some photos when I get a few done.

I have so much scrap booking stuff. I no longer have time to scrapbook. Might box some of it up and donate to the school. I just did the some of the linen closet and DH has taken some stuff to work to use as rags.

What a lovely idea Merrilyn. It's great when you can do some good with your excess.

I'm in. I reckon I'd have 40 bags already if I take all the stuff out of the boxes I've got it in!
We put the boxes where we could see them, so we'd take them to the Good sammies when we went to town yesterday. Got half way down the highway and the kids I and looked at eachother at the same time and said "we forgot the boxes"!  ???
JD - my linen cupboard is next, but I don't think I'll find as much as you!

If anyone finds any old gaming consoles or games that they are dumping, my son has asked me to ask if he would be able to have them....he is happy to pay postage.  He's apparently having a few nerd moments....he is getting a nintendo and a super nintendo for his birthday and is angling for an atari 2600 system that is currently sitting in a display cabinet in his favourite game shop.
