I cannot claim credit for this cake - it was made by my friend Carmel for DH's 50th on the weekend. He is a military history enthusiast, and this cake is a WW2 British Churchill Tank.

A simple "construction site" theme cake for a 4yo digger-obsessed boy. The orange construction cone candles were courtesy of ebay.
After the cake was cut and partly eaten, the boys ended up "driving" the toy trucks through the "mud" - which was the frosting on the cake. Made a big mess

Was browsing through this thread for ideas. DH's birthday is coming up!
Thought I'd share some of my cakes I've made through the years. A bit late to the cake making game though. Only started when we migrated to OZ 6 years ago. Didn't have time in Malaysia whilst climbing the corporate ladder, and plenty of beautiful cakes at the bakeries there.
This was my first cake done up with swirls. Swiss meringue buttercream on chocolate ganache. Caramelised almonds on the sides. Took me 3 days, plus baking the cake!!
Second cake was for brother-in-law.
First cake for my littlest man with his favourite toys then
My first time with rolled fondant. Ben 10 was a big deal then, hence the Omnitrix cake

One of our favourite cakes for my eldest boy's 10th, New York Cheesecake. Winter is a difficult time to find pretty fruits.
Made this one for him for his party. Buttercreamicing on chocolate cake. Mean looking dude on the cake is Humongousaur, one of the Ben 10 aliens.
Gorgeous summer fruits on New York Cheesecakes for DH's aunt. A beautiful lady whom we love dearly 💗
My littlest man's 5th birthday. The picture came from a helium balloon that we put up for his party

Wasn't sure if dad-in-law would appreciate cheesecake for his birthday. So I topped the cake with food he loves - bananas and ferrero rochers
Optimus Prime during the height of Transformers craze.
Eldest DS started losing interest in cartoons and toys when he turned 11.

Tried to make cricket balls cake pops but failed miserably. So decided to go simple. Created a stir amongst a couple of mummies as cake pops were unheard of then.
Cupcakes for party at the beach. Easier to transport than a whole cake.
New York Chocolate Cheesecake with Oreo base and Lindt ganache for my chocolate-mad eldest's 13th.
My littlest man's latest cake. Pokemon is still a hit
Cupcakes for my soccer-obsessed middle child. First time I made cake and icing in a thermomix!
