2 ideas for bread
« on: August 01, 2012, 11:45:24 pm »
Both these ideas are based on the NO FUSS bread recipe.

Roast Pumpkin and Sunflower seed ....Replace100 g of flour with roasted pumpkin and add 3/4 cup of sunflower seeds.  Adjust water , depending on how much water is in pumpkin.

Walnut bread......Makes excellent loaf or bread sticks....Replace 1 tablespoon of water with 1 tablespoon of WALNUT oil.                                   . Add 2 handfuls of roughly chopped walnuts  in last 1 min. Of kneading.

Both make very good toast as well as a soft loaf when fresh.   Both also freeze well
Have fun.

Thank you, Chookie.  Oh my goodness, I must get some walnut oil.  I've said that before because you post very compelling recipes including it.  Thanks for the reminder!

I thought I had walnut oil, I know I have it, had a quick look but found lots of surprises, sherry, baileys, about 10 bottles of white wine vingear, about 4 balsamics, chineese cooking wine to name but a few.

Will have a thorough search later.

 :)

Cecilia,  I have posted a couple of recipes using Wanut oil.  It is pretty expensive but well worth having.

Hally,  keep it in the Fridge when open.   You can add it to any bread recipe and makes a beautiful salad dressing.

Thanks Chookie. You need to write a book. ;)
