So very sorry for your loss.  We have been there and the grief is no different from losing any member of your family.

Gayle I'm so sorry. Pets are such a large part of families, he will be sadly missed.
I'm sure he had a wonderful life with you all.
Take care xxx

What a heart-breaking wrench to you all, but you were so lucky to have had him for so long.  Hugs to you all.

It is always so hard and so sad that we live longer than our best friends but  I know there is at least a doggie heaven where they run free, make friends and have no pain. I am positive there is a Thermomix group, that meet and discuss their owners as well as share recipes.

Lovely puppies all.

I've added some  Australian Araucana chickens to the backyard flock. They were hatched late last October and have just begun to lay... eggs can range from a lovely soft green/blue to blue.  Still have to keep them separate from the others ATM as there's a fair bit of "pecking order" going on...there's a white splash, lavender , ginger and wheaten.

GF they are so lovely. I will show DD and she will swoon. She adores chooks. ( hope I can call them chooks  ;))

No you may not cookie. These are aristocrats are precious ladies. They come in lovely colours and breeding ladies can be quite expensive as they should be. Very social ladies these are. They can come to my tea party any time.

I've reached the legal limit for chooks in our neighbourhood, Cookie . . :( . .  otherwise . . .  ;D ;D  my offspring just  :-)) :-)) their eyes! They think this just says it all.....

Gert . . they are. And I'm sure they'd be delighted to accept your invitation! ;D  I did have the most precious rooster who would follow me down to the tap as I washed their drinking containers  and follow me back up to the coop again.  He didn't crow for such a long time and I was hoping he would be one of these rare "crowless" roosters. . . . and then . . .:(  . . . and it was as though the darling was making up for lost time and so loud.  Unfortunately, I had to rehome him as roosters are on the council's strictly forbidden list and we have close neighbours on three sides . . .one complaint and that would have been that.  When the hens are laying though, they make such a din with their "egg song"  but apparently that's ok! :D (The others do this, but not the Araucanas - jungle fowl instincts maybe?)

so sorry to hear about Roger passing, and wow he certainly had a good long life  :o you would have many wonderful memories of the important place he has played in your family.

Your chooks look great too GF, and what a bonus that they are good layers. Our puppies and cat would love chooks  :D but after 5 minutes  it would look like there had been a massive pillow fight in our backyard

I love these "ladies" GF.  I bought one for my GD a couple of years ago but unfortunately the fox finally got her.  :(
