GHM I have seen fishing line cross crossed above ponds to keep birds away. That may help if you don't wish to put mesh on it.

He looks as if he is longing to go outside Amy.  Be careful if he is on your shoulder and you forget  ;)  Our neighbour often went outside forgetting he was on her shoulder and all was well until one day something scared him and he took off.

I'm always very careful Judy. Our neighbour has a vicious cat that killed my brother's canary several years ago so I would never have Clinker near the door if it were open. It was too horrible watching George the canary after he was attacked. I don't want it to happen again.
He gets plenty of sun and light and breeze when I have my window open. I have the flyscreen on the outside and a net curtain on the inside so he can't get out but he can enjoy nice weather :D

Oh clinker you handsome chappie I think you have grown a bit.

He certainly has Kimmy ;D He spends all day preening his feathers and getting rid of his baby fluff. His stripes are becoming more defined too :D

Our lab watching as I have DD's cockatiel on my shoulder.  Shelby (the lab) is so gentle with everything - she lets Charlie (the bird) sit on her feed bowl as she is eating.  In this pic it is almost a look of you nee to be patting me!!
