This is at Beerenberg.

I joined Maggie Beer's club too. I also get newsletters from Careme Pastry. They have lovely recipes, although I usually make my own. I'm sure Careme is lovely but it is so expensive at home.

We had a lovely day up in the Adelaide hills today. Went up a very curly curvy road. It had Sturt in the street name. Lovely views. Went up to the Mount Lofty lookout but the city was under cloud. Drove through lots of the lovely littlemvillages up there. We ended up in Woodside where DH did some of his national service 40 years ago. We went to the Melba chocolate factory (you can never have too much chocolate) and meandered over to Hahndorf. On the way we had lunch at the Lobethal bakery in Woodside. Walked round Hahdorf for quite a while, calling at Ottos's bakery for dessert. Next stop was Beerenberg where they make lots of delicious jams, chutneys and all sorts of other things.  A lovely day.

Melbas at Woodside.
Ottos in Hahndorf.

What a lovely photo. ;D I bet you didn't stop talking  :D :D :D :D :D

CC, your GS is sssooo gorgeous. I love baldy babies. My two didn't have hair until they were about 18 months old.
Those blue eyes and big smile - he's going to break some hearts.  :)
Thanks Michele.I'm a bit biased but he is very cute. His blue/grey eyes are gradually changing colour, maybe to hazel, and I think he's going to have curly hair like his Daddy. My DD and DS didn't have hair until 18 months as well :D :D :D

Cookie. I am only new to posting, so tend not to say too much at the moment but am loving the photos of your trip, how exciting. I have also downloaded the Instagram App, so now have to learn how to use it.

May I ask its it a Jayco van that you have as we have just purchased one & will be taking it out for the first time next weekend (only for the weekend). Also, if you don't mind me asking, when you are free camping our wouldn't be able to use Thermy as you don't have power, would you?

Cheers,

Hi Jonvic. I'm glad  you're enjoying the trip. We've done heaps of travelling since we retired, and quite a lot before, so I have enjoyed sharing this one with the help of my iPad and how to use it advice from forum members.
Yes, our van is a Jayco.. It is 18 foot long and a pop top. We bought it in 2005 and it has done about 80,000km since then with us.
You are right about free camping and thermomix.  We have a generator, a Honda 20i, and this is adequate to use for the thermothingy.
DH says you need 'clean' power and should run the thermothingy by itself off the generator.. Don't even have the van plugged in.
Usually when we free camp we have grills or previously prepared food.

Where are you off to in your van? Does your van have shower and toilet, they are very handy for free camping ?
Enjoy your weekend.

It would have been lovely to have you there MM. I don't think we have anything to share, other than asa Judy said we were instantly friends.
It is just so amazing that people who have never met can instantly chat like age,old friends ( I don't mean we are old, I would never say that). Just that it seems like we have known each other for ever.

When you come to Australia and do all the states MM, I'm sure each state will organise a meet and greet for you.  Or an alternative, you could fly Cookie & me over to you and we can meet that way  ;D
