Baking for RedKite - rememberance for Denzel
« on: October 15, 2012, 11:13:38 am »
It's Denzel 5th anniversary today.  Thanks to TMX, managed to made Isi's Cinnamon cookies, Fruit and Date Ball (variation from Vegetarian book), DD golden syrup cake, American brownies and apple slice.  Plus colleague made cupcake. Sell them at work to fund raise for RedKite, organization that help out family with sick kids (cancer).  I raise $264.- Yay!

Sad day for you Denzelmum but throwing yourself into something like RedKite is a wonderful outlet for you.  Well done on the amount of cooking and money raised.  Hugs

Thank you for lovely little messages, Ladies. It's sad day but glad to find great way to distract myself and focus on the more positive side.   Gone from our sight, but never our memory.  Gone from our touch, but never our heart (the words on his grave). xx

I hadn't heard of RedKite before, so checked out the website.

What a wonderful way of remembering Denzel and helping others like him and their families.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.
