No Yvette, Amanda is going to be working on that but accommodation will be dearer than the WA retreat because of there probably being a maximum of 2 per room or people choosing to have a room to themselves.

I've had a preliminary chat with the hotel - the Crowne Plaza Adelaide http://www.crowneplazaadelaide.com.au/ - but the woman I dealt with in the past is on leave until late January.

At this stage  a very rough indication would be around $180 per night, inclusive of their very nice buffet breakfast.  If there are 2 in a room then the second person has to pay $25 for the breakfast (normally $35).  When my contact gets back I will look into the possibility of a  set-price dinner too.

This hotel is a nice, new one in the heart of the city.  There may be others $40-50 cheaper, but not as new or as central, so I think it is worth paying a little extra for the convenience.

Fine with me. Plenty of buses to get to the market and Gouger St. LOL!

Sorry Hally, even the week later wouldn't have been any good and August seemed to be the preferred date.  It would be impossible to pick a date to suit everyone  :'( :'( :'(

Thats ok JD, i ddnt say which month was the one I could do so no-one felt that they had to try & include me.

It's a 10 minute walk to the market from the Crowne - and 2 seconds to Rundle Mall and the shops.  ;D

Awesome! Off to check flights if my internet connection lasts.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Sounds exciting. Not sure yet if I could come as we might be going to Greece around that time. Would love to meet everyone though so if it's at all possible I'll try to be in Adelaide that weekend - if so would stay with family & probably hire a car, so no need to include me in numbers for buses, accommodation etc.   Can't really commit but will see how it goes.

I can vouch for the Crowne Plaza Adelaide being a great place to stay.  Had fabulous food in the hotel restaurant and really loved the proximity to the city.  Rooms were very comfortable and luxurious (and I stayed in the lowest rate room because I was there for work). Very short walk from Andre's Cucina & Polenta Bar if that tickles any fancies.

I have only just seen this thread today.  I don't know how I had missed it.  I cannot confirm if I can come because we are planning trip overseas next year, but haven't settled on the date yet.  Would love to come and will keep an eye on the thread and advise one way or the other.
