I also have the first one and have never used it.  Don't think I will get this one.

In the Mix 2 can be brought from Thermomix website for $60, or as a pk with books 1&2 for $105.
I don't have either but have seen book 1 and don't think I'll bother either.  :-\

I have ordered the new book and am interested to see what it's like, I have an open mind about it.

I have the first book and even though it's a lovely book, I haven't cooked anything from it.  But, I'll admit I have quite a lot of books that I've never actually cooked from. I just love cookbooks!

It looks as if it is going to be up to you then Katie to review this book, you may be able to help others decide whether they want it or not  ;)

I'm not going to buy it either.  The first one didn't appeal to me either. Bit fancy smancy for me. Thought I was the odd one out. Glad others feel the same.

It is not everyday meals but I have found a few good recipes from In The Mix.  I absolutely love the muesli slice, and use her recipe for making pavlova.  I have also made the mojito cheesecake which is really good.  Whilst I don't use it everyday, I have used it enough to justify buying it

That's good to hear Snappy... I'm kind of interested. ...I really like the spaghetti Bolognaise from In The Mix. Again not an everyday meal but the book doesn't promote itself to be an everyday book so I think they can get away with it :)

I also really like the In the Mix cookbook 1.
I think it is quite clever as many of the recipes have 2 or 3 parts which can be made separately for every day or put together for something more special.
I often make the little steamed puddings. they are really easy and work well. They are now a family favourite.
It is worth looking at the separate parts of each dish and use accordingly.
I look forward to In the Mix 2. I have hinted for it for Christmas.
Here's hoping!

It is good to hear everyone's opinions.  That is what I like about this Forum.

I'm obviously Robinson Crusoe when it comes to In The Mix. Some of the family friendly meals I've made out of it are The Sour Orange Curry, made with chicken not prawns - Chicken Tagine - Beef Stir fry - onion Jam Flan (but used Tenina's onion jam as I already had it made up). I've also made the olive bread which turned out really well unlike a lot of my other bread.

What was a little more time consuming but well worth the effort was the deconstructed lemon meringue pie - it's on pg 171.

Having said all that there are plenty of recipes for all the above on the forum and it is an expensive book - I was blessed with this book as a gift from a lovely friend.  :)

Received this book recently and it's a little beauty.  My list of 'to do' recipes is very long, not too many in the whole book that don't appeal to me and heaps that can be converted for the Thermomix.
